An app, dedicated to consent, which formalizes and memorializes consent so that there is ZERO misunderstanding or miscommunication between two parties is demonized because they guy who came up with it thought, "gosh this could protect men!"

And so the school gets their panties in a bunch - and without a hint of irony says, "wait a fucking second mate, you can't protect men with consent! ONLY WOMEN!"

Nevermind the fact that the net result of fewer accusations means fewer women who believe (wrongly or not) that they were raped. Meaning that women might take consent as seriously as men.

Of course, any way you slice it, formalized consent can only help both parties. (According to their perverse worldview- but that's a story for another day).

So, it betrays their real view. If it helps men as well as women, then it's not helping only women. Feminism seeks to increase power and choice for women only. The false rape card is a major play, and this would undermine such power.

The wording or the article definitely will miss the point that there are failrly large number of cases of false accusations.. But Consent apps do not work.

The apps wont work because consent can be revoked at anytime and its practically very difficult to revoke the consent on the app if the person is inebriated or physically challenged to operate the app at any time
There will always be that "race condition" where someone revokes consent but the other person continues for the act for another 2-3seconds which would be a violation
One has to very explicitly list out all the acts the person consents to which can be very difficult

Just trying to be legally correct here.. There are pigs in both genders and the danger still looms even with the consent apps , men always need to be extremely cautions especially if your SMV is high.

There is no doubt consent apps will be a blow to the metoo movement and partly the reason why people will hate to give it publicity.

The person who circulated the email was an idiot. Wording the proposal like that in an effort to prove a point was obviously going to spark controversy.

That being said, the double speak is palpable. Notice how when they can't criticise the idea that would solve the consent issue that puts so much power in the hands of women, they criticise the intent. Women and femimised men don't like to solve problems, they like to complain about them for attention.
