It's crazy how I have watched comedy and game shows from the 70's (specifically Match Game). GF couldn't understand why I am into it and she watched a few old school episodes and we we're in stitches. Sometimes the jokes are a little hard given they're 40 years old now to get but they're hilarious.

Nowadays, it's all watered down and you feel like you're walking on eggshells. To any of the older members on here. Would you wish we were still like the 70's/80's? Everything seemed so carefree back then.

Seinfeld talks about this briefly on Colin Cowherd's podcast. He says people actually got mad at him for doing a golf joke about Tiger Woods because, at the time, Tiger was having a bad tournament. He also talks about how everyone just wants to use terms like "racist", "sexist", etc. He provides an anecdote where his daughter told him that something he said was "sexist", and he criticized her, saying young kids want to be outraged and don't even know what those words really mean. Seinfeld calls it the "apology culture". He says, "We're too goddamn sensitive to live anymore; I hate it."

It's interesting. Cowherd talked about how he had Charles Barkley on his show, and Barkley said he'd been arrested eight times for punching fans, but "they all deserved it", and Cowherd caught a lot of shit from people about it. Seinfeld laughs and says, "You know, we need some guys like that to be men, to stand up and go, 'I'm not apologizing -- I meant it.' It's the apology culture; it's just sick. I don't know where the guilt comes from."

People may have the ABILITY to say what they want but freedom of speech is finished in the US. Everybody's on their guard. Gary Oldman said in a Playboy interview that Jews run Hollywood. He showed up on Letterman looking like somebody just threatened him and his family. That should NEVER happen. I'm black and these PC idiots make David Duke look like a respectable man. Here's a story this has made me remember (not mine):

In the 1st grade, my daughter was lucky enough to have a long-term substitute teaching at her school that had previously taught ballet in Russia. For free, the man taught a bunch of hyper 1st-3rd graders how to dance in the afternoons after school. It was a beautiful experience.

But I remember after their big show, my daughter and I were talking about it. The girls really did do amazing for only a couple of months of twice-a-week short practices. But there was one girl from 2nd or 3rd grade that was just really obviously the best of the group.

I mentioned to my daughter how I bet she had taken lessons before, because she was so good. She had advanced techniques and grace that none of the other girls had had time to pick up.

Daughter: "But we were all good." Me: "Of course you were. You did a great job and you all practiced really hard. She just obviously had more experience, because she was really really REALLY good." Daughter: "But... but... we're the same." Me: "Honey, she just had more experience and practice. If you worked really hard and took classes, you could get better too. " Daughter: "No! Mom, you can't say she's better! We're all the same! We all did the best!!!!"

I was flabbergasted. Less than two years in school had already ingrained into her this "everyone who shows up is the same as everyone else" mentality. Needless to say, we had a long, long talk on how there would always be someone better than her at everything, but that didn't mean she shouldn't try and practice and do the very best she could to get better and better.

I'm grateful that now, as a junior high student, she's matured far beyond her years. But it has been a BATTLE to keep her from assuming she just automatically gets credit for existing without any effort on her part.

There is some truth to this people get offended to easily now.

Im only 25 and have touched on some topics where I have been criticized for using certain words, making certain jokes or pointing out certain things.

One that got me in a lot of heat with some of my friends was when I called out one of my best friends brother who is gay out, when he was being a little whinny bitch while we were trying to fix their car.

I was sick of his little bitching bringing down the mood so I snapped at him and was like look its ok to be gay but you dont have to be a fucking faggot.

Either help me and your brother out here or shut the fuck up and take your pussy ass inside and let the real man handle this shit.

His brother actually had my back on this since we were just trying to fix HIS goddamn car in the bitter cold and all he was doing was bitching, but everyone else in the group gave me so much shit for attacking a gay man on being gay.

I dont have a problem with him being gay I just have a problem with him not helping out and being a little pussy when its less than 20* outside.

People need to learn how to laugh at themselves. My mother was in a wheelchair. One night, maybe 25 years ago, I took her to a comedy show/dinner event for her birthday or something. The comedian made some jokes about wheelchairs and the handicapped. I looked over towards my mother to make sure she was all right and I saw her chuckling. Later, when we were all filing out, the comedian was greeting the audience. My mother looked him in the eye and said she enjoyed the show.

I think the problem with the PC / SJW crowd is they are trying to wrap the world in leather and it just can not be done. This is less about impressions and more about first impressions.

A person's first exposure to something is really important. It sticks, and any theories or stances developed during the experience are particularly hard to change.

None of these kids have heard of these two. They don't want the first impression of an entire campus to be the batshit crazy headlines that come out of these things.

Also, Jerry's already on thin ice for treating Michael Richards like a human being.

Over generalizations and a opinion lacking substance, try to put more into your comment, it reads as if this was just a regurgitation of some twisted form of TRP idealism. Seen this beta bashing so much that's its just meaningless chatter. Most people here use the beta template and run with it a bit to much when its just a starter concept. Beta for all intense purposes is a man lacking the female desirability trinity, wealth, social capability, beauty, in that order that is what a men needs to rise in Gynocentric society. Political correctness is not without its necessities, this censorship creates an economy that detracts from outright spewing of false economies about other people of color or culture. Racism is more then alive in the US, and though PC has not helped to remove it, its helped to blunt it and force it out of the mainstream and into the shadows and petty talk of people who do not understand the motions of the world presently or of the obvious future of tomorrow, that being globalized society, inclusion of all, etc, etc. The article also discusses the cultural disconnect occurring between these older comedians, some comedians in old age prefer to go political as they no longer themselves live within mainstream years of their audience and could find it a lot more difficult to touch on relatable subjects. As for comedians who don't care about PC the economy is capitalist, they'll find venues where there is economy for it, though if kids in colleges raise concerns that's really to the comedian to discern if its even a market worth their efforts.
