I believe the biggest issue is money (assuming you live in a place where it’s legal e.g. NL), so it’s not recommended to make it your main method of obtaining sex.

I've never had to use prostitutes myself, but I can imagine your mindset going into it makes all the difference in the world. If you approach it just to shut up the call of nature making you feel inadequate if you're not getting laid then that might be acceptable. If you are using it because you feel like you can't get it anywhere else then it will just compound those empty feelings and widen that empty hole you're feeling inside. Prostitution is fine from time to time (occasional whim) if you are able to game at least a couple of girls a month or during "survival mode" as long as you set absolutely clear boundaries and limits.
