and just to add something to what he said, if she was willing to flirt with you while having a bf she'd probably do the same if you end up with her which you really don't want so just find other girls that are into you
[–]tyler2733[S] 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
It's my understanding that some women just flirt with everyone? And I gotta feeling that her and her bf will break up soon, I just don't wanna cause it. Too much baggage

It's my understanding that some women just flirt with everyone?
Yea... but women you'd want to be with long term do not go out of their way to flirt with random people
[–]tyler2733[S] 25 points26 points27 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
She initiated too, which should've been the first red flag
[–]KrullTheWarriorKing 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Oh yeah. If she does break up with him, don't date her. Try and bang her if you want, but not date.
[–]greenlittleman 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
If you are doing things right, then you wouldn't know if she had a boyfriend before fucking her. If a girl attracted to you and doesn't really love her bf, then she just wouldn't tell you about him because of fear to lose a chance with you. But it also depends on the stage she told you about her bf. If it was after kissing and escalating with you, then this is just her being nice to him and her last moral barrier before sex with you. I don't really understand situation you talked about because in PU you couldn't waste a year - no matter what you either fuck her within 1-3 hours (1-3 meetings) or just go for the next girl. If she tells about her bf, but you think she is attracted, then it is up to you - at most you'll lose a hour of your time flirting with her. Though some guys have this empathy towards poor bf.

This, 100%
[–]7mile_ 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Wtf is up with guys pursuing chicks who have boyfriends? There are lots of single girls out there. Seriously go after the ones who aren't taken. Put yourself in the guys shoes. Imagine you are in a relationship and you have guys trying to smash your gf when they know she's in a relationship. How would that make you feel?? Just stop it
It is low class and unethical trying to get a girl to cheat on her boyfriend.
[–]lemonman456 -2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Lol why she the other guy care more about the relationship than the girl in it? The first doesn't own her. If she likes OP more, then she can be with OP. Women aren't property, you can't steal women from other men. The bf should go find a woman that likes him more than OP or one that won't cheat on him. You can't make a woman cheat, she does that herself.
[–]7mile_ 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No one owns anybody but I see guys out there pressuring a girl to cheat on her boyfriend all the time. The second a girl tells you she has a boyfriend that's when you need to cut her off and stop pursuing her. Look elsewhere.
Sometimes the girl doesn't mean to cheat but she's caught up in the emotions. That's human nature. Your job is to no let it get to that point. The second a girl says she has a bf you nerd to drop her cold turkey. If she decides to break up.. then everything is good and you can proceed. Otherwise back off!!
[–]Kenic_In_MD 30 points31 points32 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
. Did walking away in this instance make me look more attractive?
I say you done did good. Leave her alone until she is available for you.
[–]coldbrew18 47 points48 points49 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Leave her alone, but don’t wait for her.
[–]Kenic_In_MD 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Bingo, she may even see you do this and will break up with her bf faster to be with you. I say keep on keepin' on, don't put your life on hold because of her "maybe"
[–]ANGRY_ASPARAGUS 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Exactly. This shows that you have options, and don't need her affection to be happy. This actually makes you that much more attractive.
[–]zfgee 20 points21 points22 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
She MAY or MAY not have a boyfriend. If she does, she may be looking for an upgrade, or some variety.
You did the right thing by being upfront and direct about your intentions and "walking away". It shows you are not needy and have options. Well done. Now, go find some other women.
[–]tyler2733[S] 10 points11 points12 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
She 100% has a bf I know that for a fact. I think going out with taken people can be a huge waste of time, not to mention morally wrong to me.
[–]greenlittleman 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You shouldn't waste your time even if she doesn't have a bf. If you don't care about this "morally wrong" then it is easy to check if she really like her bf, or don't care about him - just escalating like usual - if she doesn't want to cheat then she wouldn't give you access to her body and wouldn't kiss you. I can't see how to try escalating for 10-30 minutes can be a waste of time.
[–]Kayyam 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
You shouldn't concern yourself with her opinion of you. Did you act according to how you felt? Or did you act in hopes of triggering a reaction from her (like her realizing how much of a catch you are and dropping her bf for you)?
If you truly were not interested on sleeping with her while she was on a relationship, you did good. What she thinks should have 0 importance on your frame of mind.
[–]tyler2733[S] 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Acted to how I felt. I think it's morally bad to mess around with taken girls
[–]somewhatintrigued 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
While I was thinking about things like that only from a moral perspective for most of my life, I've now grown up to realize that what matters more is that you most likely wouldn't want her to behave like that in your own potential relationship. Sure it's not a brotherly thing to do to another man but you don't owe anyone shit regarding relationships except your friends and family.
I'd cut my losses and move on by this point with the exact same offer to "call me when things don't work out". That's giving you value.
Sounds like an example straight out of CCW's 3% man. You did good imo.
[–]Kayyam 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's debatable.
[–]westdonkeykong 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I once found an ex flirting with dudes on Snapchat and Instagram like this. She's an ex for a reason, turns out she was mentally unstable.
So yes, do that guy a favor and pursue her harder.
[–]V4refugee 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You probably did yourself a favor but It’s not unlikely that she still would have fucked. Her current relationship could be either open or not too serious or she was lying or whatever. If you were cool with banging her under those conditions then you fucked up. No point in leaving it open because she will still be that same person when she ends her current relationship. You’re either cool with a girl like that or you tell her straight up that if she single and wants to fool around then you don’t mind fooling around when she’s single. No real point to leave the possibility of an actual monogamous relationship open. She’ll probably act the same way with you and you don’t seem to be the type of person to be ok with that. If you were, you probably wouldn’t have turned her down for having a boyfriend.
[–]Dallas_Stars_Fan 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes.
[–]cbh28 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It was good for you to walk away, but you left the door open. Do you really want to be with a girl who flirts with other guys while in a relationship? I don't know what your intentions are with her, but if you want something serious, she doesn't seem like the right type. If you just want sex, then I guess you can go for her once she's single, though I personally wouldn't. I'd drop her instantly.
[–]abbehardy 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Don't be logical! If you guys are flirting super hard, don't even talk about what you want or desire for you and her. Just tell her to meet you for coffee or a drink or whatever. Then you take action with her if you really like her (take her back to your place and have sex) Walking away is doing nobody a favour. Lots of guys and girls are with someone that's not the right fit for them. If you can do better why not.
Maybe she would enjoy hanging out with you a lot more. I never understood the "I'm walking away because of moral high ground" kind of situation. If you like the girl, you mean well and you want to show her a good time. Why not?
If you plan to have sex with her for validation ego and never plan to hit her up again. Then leave it alone. But I'm assuming you have good intentions.
[–]Freeflower 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I’m a female, and yes
[–]hans1193 10 points11 points12 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
lol wtf happened to this sub
[–]Cruisin_Fart 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I had a similar situation. Met a girl, asked her out, she had a bf. She said she hoped we could still be buds. I didn't respond to that and moved on. What I did do, is I kept a friendly presence just in case, liking her posts, inviting her to group events, etc, just showing continued interest. This was almost 3 years ago. About three weeks ago, she hits me up out of the blue and asks if I remembered when I asked her out. Had a date two days later, and continue to have dates. So yeah, don't worry about it too much.
[–]stinger7720 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Don’t get emotionally connected with that girl. You dodged a bullet really right now. Even if you get to date her, be careful
[–]jessah 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
My man! You did good!
[–]TheRedPrince99 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I say you did good walking away but hopefully she’s a plate your spinning when she comes to you after her break up. (If she even does.) You don’t wanna be a rebound
[–]HairlessGreek 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
What you did is alright just don’t let it get to the point in which she knows that you’re gonna be waiting for her as soon as her relationship with her bf goes bad. For example, if they break up and then she comes to you, she might just be using you as a rebound and you can cuck yourself by giving her attention because she might just get back with her ex while she’s “with” you. If that happens, she’ll probably try to hit you up when shit goes bad again but this time don’t get her a chance.
[–]lemonman456 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Why are people saying to not be her rebound? Being the rebound guy is amazing as long as you don't fall in love with her. It's all excitement with 0 commitment
[–]HairlessGreek 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I mean it’s fine if you don’t catch feelings but you can’t know that you aren’t going to fall for her
[–]Shazambom 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Not only did you make the right decision, you also avoided wasting time and a low likely prospect and you did the right thing. FeelsGoodMan
Edit: also who wants to be with a girl who flirts a lot behind her bf's back
[–]Dadoma 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I say you did good. Option 2 would be to get her to cheat on her BF if you just agreed and amplified.
[–]Dating973 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes I think it does. But don’t secretly hold on to this one even though you walked away
[–]DaddyB0d 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
One perspective: Good decision, right action. Chasing girls who are in relationships is bad karma. You wouldn't want your g/f cheating, cheating on another dude's g/f is scummy. Those kind of women are untrustworthy, and are drama-machines that will bring chaos into your life. "Cool. Call me when you're single"
Another perspective: Love is a free market. Just because she's with someone else right now doesn't mean he's the best choice. She's going to fuck someone else anyway, might as well be you. "Boyfriend? That's perfectly fine. I'll still have a drink with you."
It depends on what kind of man you aspire to be.
[–]tyler2733[S] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Currently in my very rural area, I choose the first one. There simply aren't enough people and that bad word travels quick
[–]GET_IN_THE_VAN 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
yeah man you're good
[–]LowKeyCowey1 point 8 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
You were assertive and stated that you aren't settling for what you get, but will only settle for what you want. Yes you appeared more attractive. You did just what I would good job lol
[–]GuyFromDaStore -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
You shouldn't have done that "if you become single, call me". That puts you in a weak, passive position.
[–]tyler2733[S] 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I walked away and left the door open. Either way, still a learning experience
[–]BridgetheDivide 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
What should he have said.
[–]ANGRY_ASPARAGUS 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Not at all. Weak would have been to grovel and be the third wheel / dude friend with no guaranteed result in the future, which couldn't be a bigger waste of time. He was honest about his intentions and moved on, which is the correct course of action.
[–]delon123 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Not really
[–]hans1193 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Why do you care if she has a boyfriend, she clearly doesn’t. You made yourself supremely unattractive by not just going for it. Best move when a girl says she has a boyfriend in this situation is to play it off like you didn’t hear her.
[–]tyler2733[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
She 100% does, they've been dating for 2 months
[–]hans1193 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That’s right around the time people get bored and start looking, thus flirting heavily with you 😂 all you have to do is make a move man. Check back in 1 month, if it’s not you, it’s someone else.
[–]Greek-God-Brody 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You did wrong. Next time: treat it as a shit test, and keep gaming her.
You don't have to logically explain to her that you want to fuck her. Just keep escalating and go for the close.
[–]AshyBoneVR4 -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes because she was only going to use you for the attention. When her boyfriend isn't giving her enough validation/attention that's when she turns to her fleet of orbiters/dude-pool. You're not the only guy she was doing this with, and you're not going to be the last. She's probably thinking you're going to hit her up in the next couple of weeks. You did the right thing both morally and for yourself. I'm proud of you reddit dude stranger.
[–]jeffiet -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
IHAB shit test. I think you failed.

I don't care if a woman has a boy friend. I'll still hangout with her and do stuff. Be her friend. I'm not waiting around for her though. Just keeping her as an option for when she's ready. I'm still getting with other women. The cool thing is, if she's attracted to you, she'll introduce you to her hot single friends. Don't discount the friendzone. If dating was like sales, it's another lead generation method.
[–]7mile_ 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Have more respect for relationships. The only reason you're hanging out with the girl is to eventually have sex with her regardless if she has a bf or not. If a girl has a bf than you need to respect the relationship and go hang out with single girls. There's plenty of them
[–]ReallyGrounded 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
lol
I think you misunderstood me. I'm not hanging out with her in hopes of someday banging her. I'm hanging out with her because she's a cool person. If she becomes available in the future, sure, I'd like to get with her. But I'm not going to walk away and be all like, we can't hangout now because you have a bf. That seems manipulative, especially if you click and could be good friends. I 100% respect her decision to go with that other guy. I'm not going to try and "steal" her away either. Like you said there are tons of single women out there. I'll get with them, but I'm not going to toss away a potential friendship.
