How much are you really trying? Do you talk to at least one woman on campus every day? Do you go to social events where other women are? It’s a numbers game. You should also be trying to hang out with your friends who are getting laid. Just the proximity will help you. I’m sure all their hookups have friends too.

You need to stop going for numbers, and instead flirt, express desire, create sexual tension, try to go for instant dates rather than walking away with a useless number, or even go for same day kiss or same day lays.

You need to project yourself in a more sexual way when interacting with women. If you are worried about making them uncomfortable just know that it’s better to risk making them uncomfortable, than making them feel indifferent or giving them platonic vibe. If you want to get laid you need to take high risks. You can’t get laid easily by trying to play it safe.

And yes that means you can come on too strong sometimes and fuck up, but that’s how you learn, by seeing how strong you can come on before you screw up. To know where the line is, you need to be willing to cross it so you can get as close to the line without breaking it.

Sex happens when you act sexual not when you act romantic or like a friend, but obviously acting sexual requires being smooth, socially intelligent, but also being daring and shameless. It’s a hard balance that doesn’t come easy for all men.

I was not particularly prolific in college. Only slept with one woman who was my girlfriend for a year. I went to an all men Catholic high School, so my game skills were very poor.

You only hear stories about the people who are having sex, not the ones who aren't, and there's probably a few who are lying or exaggerating. I reckon it's fairly common to go through college without loads of success in the hookup scene.

I do better now as an adult, but I also spend a lot of time conscientiously developing social skills with women. It's an ongoing process. The key is to just interact with women as much as possible. That way when one comes along that's interested, you'll be comfortable interacting with them and things will escalate naturally

Colleges are typically the worst places to look for hookups because it’s the kind of environment where few guys get all the social status and the rest is basically ignored by women.

The most sex I had in college was in one of the two relationships I was in and that didn't start until junior year. Most of us go to colleges that don't get a ton of that especially now that we've largely evolved past pumping drinks into some girl until she can't stand (and for good fucking reason). So I'd chalk it up to either you don't go to Arizona state and don't have this massive party culture that tends to support hookups like crazy, or maybe you're not closing the deal when it arises. If the latter, no coffee for you, coffee's for closers.

I hooked up a lot in college. I'm older in my 40s, so this was early 2000s. It was probably the craziest period of my life in terms of hooking up until dating apps came around in my 30s, then it got next level crazy.

Anyway, you've gotta kinda build a life where you have a tons of friends, and you always know where the parties are or who's going out to what bar what night. Basically surround yourself with cool friends. By far most college hookups, at least for me 20 year ago now, were friends of friends at house parties or meeting up with friends at bars. The friends of friends thing I think helps immensely, because you're not perfect strangers, so you don't have to spend time building trust. "Oh you know so and so, you've gotta be normal." Honestly, a lot of times we'd have new girls come into the friend group and then work her way around through at least 2 or 3 (or more) of us. Hooking up was very common, at least in my friend group.

Having cool friends is social capital, knowing where the parties are is social capital, knowing the bartenders on a first name basis is a social capital. It's a life you have to build, and then the hookups start happening.

I also know plenty of folks who went through college with nary a hook up, if you don't put yourself out there, in a position for potential hookups (partying), then it'll never happen. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with this at all.

The number approach isn't effective if you're not rizzing them up through text. Conversely if all you're asking for is numbers, you've already shown lots of your interest without any real follow up or conversational foreplay.
