If you can't find anything from her profile, just ask her opinion on something that you can follow up on, ex. giving yourself a haircut during the quarantine. I don't use tinder anymore. Coffee meets bagel has worked for me. But I don't overthink it. I'm trying to meet asap, so I always go for the date. My script is really simple.

Me: hey insert name! How's it going?

Them: I'm good blah blah blah

Me: I'm great, what do you like more coffee or drinks?

Them: I prefer drinks/coffee.

Me: oh do you want to get drinks/coffee sometime?

Them: Yes.

Then text them and schedule a date. Really easy, nothing to overthink and gets the date. Since quarantine started, I've been doing video chat dates. I have a couple girls I'll schedule dates with when this ends.

First off sort your profile out. Your photos are everything. I’m a photographer/videographer myself so my profile photos are high quality and it makes a massive difference. When you’re out and about have your mates take a photo of yourself - the happier you look the better. The photos make a huge difference as they sort of cut through that “creep radar” women seem to have. If you have shit photos you’ll come across low value in my opinion. I usually have girls open me and say they like my photos then I usually continue the convo by saying I’ll take photos of them someday, then it goes from there.

Chicks fucking love having their photos taken and I’ve been on dates where i bring my camera and we just go down the beach and we’ll play around with a photo shoot haha or I’ll just hand them the camera and teach them how to use it. It’s a great ice breaker.

If they don’t open me, I can usually write most things and I’ll get a reply around 75% of the time. If I’m lazy I’ll just write “bonjour” but if I want to put a little effort in I’ll pick something in their bio or from their photos and comment on it buy making a joke. Your profile pictures make a huge difference. If you look good they’ll fucking reply in most cases.

Top tip for using the app as well is to build rapport quickly and then once you feel like you’re in the groove with them, get them off the app and start snapchatting/whatsapping them. Having them converse with you over tinder is a pain in the fucking ass as the app itself is clunky and they’ll have temptations from the other guys on the app. So ask for their number at a good point during the convo on tinder and keep the ball rolling.

IF she asks for a pickup line in her bio, I leave a pickup line. If she has something interesting in one of her pictures, I'll try to start a conversation about that. If she has nothing in her bio and her pictures are all normal, I'll just give her the old "Hey, what's up?". If she gives me nothing to start a conversation with, I'm not going to go into simp mode to get her to message me back.

I've looked back through my online dating conversations of guys I've actually met up with and here are some pointers:

- Yes, a comment about my profile or a joke about my name works because I know you aren't just sending the same message to every girl you match with.

- Interest is indicated by a response of equal effort: a well thought out response or pun.

- Try to match her interest when it comes to sexual conversation. If you coin some innuendo and she responds but not in a flirty way, it means she is interested but doesn't like sexual jokes/talk until you've met up. At this point you can actually ask her to meet up because if she wasn't interested she wouldn't have responded at all. DO NOT however continue to push sexually charged conversation after she has tried to avoid it.

- It is a numbers game, many of the people I met up with just asked at the right time where I had room in my schedule to go on a date. Conversation before asking for a date can be minimal, but there has to be some (don't ask for a date in the first message).

- The best and most succesful way to ask for a date is leading up to it in conversation. If you can naturally steer the conversation to coffee and then use that as a segue to ask for a coffee date (or a certain type of food, or an affinity for board games) that's a method that's very likely to work.

Save yourself a lot of time, frustration etc.... Get off Tinder, and get out there. Learn to get the confidence, the conversation, and social skills needed to have real interaction with people face to face. In some way I can understand why someone older, busy with children and other things may want to try and date online. (Even though think of that as not a great idea either). Being the age you are you have so many things you can do, enjoy life as much as you can, do things that you love doing, and possibly while not being stuck at home swiping (I don't know which way but was told just about all guys swipe right lol) You will actually end up meeting someone while doing those things.

For me, I always opened with some sort of dad joke. I have kind of a goofy sense of humor so it worked well for me. I hear one or see one on reddit that I thought was pretty good and that’d be my opener. One I always liked was a joke I actually saw on here. So typically any girl I matched with I’d throw out one like “why do fish live in saltwater?” That being such an odd question they’d usually be curious enough to say something like “I don’t know, why?” “Because if they lived in pepper water they’d sneeze” it’s a silly joke but that’s the point, it’s just different. I’d tell a few more and then the conversation could become more organic after that. Then the usually advice, make sure your profile is in line, pictures are up to date and good. Hopes this helps bud.

I actually eventually ended up telling a really dumb joke about the weather being cold or something but I had a typo that completely threw it off. The girl thought it was hilarious (the typo) and long story short we get married in September.

Just play with it. Tinder is very casual and should be treated that way. Being uptight or too serious will kill the wibe on tinder I think.

I would not use it during the pandemic tho. Because I see no point in just chatting online for longer periods of time. I just used it to get matches and dates. And without be able to set up dates I don't really see the point. But maybe that's just me.

Say something unique about their profile or bio. Be a little bold but not like agressive. Tinder is not for messaging and having full out conversations, if the girls reciprocating I usually get the snap within a couple messages.

Honestly you could say pretty anything within reason. Just for the love of god please don’t say “hey”. You know how many guys an attractive girl has in her tinder messages and instagram DMs saying “hey” and “whats up?” Even if she does respond its probably gonna be a dry conversation. Or even worse, do not follow the people on r/tinder who only try to create the most quirky and punny conversations instead of going for the girl. 60% of the posts on there are just funny comments or jokes that get a “haha” response, another 30% is just people being really weird, getting ignored or roasted and then posting it for sympathy karma, and the remaining 10% seem like actually successful interactions.

I’ve found the most success in making the opening line somehow related to her/her profile while being a little flirty and direct
