Flirting isn’t effective if the other person isn’t attracted to you. A random stranger isn’t attractive to most women (you’re one out of many, even threatening to some), but if the same stranger casually displays a captivating and enjoyable personality then the stranger has a higher chance of becoming attractive to a woman’s eye (you’re no longer one out of many). Only then the seduction should begin. Most amateurs flirt when there’s no attraction and that’s where they fail right off the bat. This is the difference between attracting and chasing.

Also, what you’re describing of one topic to the other is bad too. You’re supposed to throw a false time constraint, and then display your personality through no more than two topics, games, or interactions, and then you should test for at least a couple of indicators of interest. If the woman replies favorably, you’re on the right track, you can escalate and flirt a little and see how that goes. If she doesn’t, then you leave it at just a friendly interaction and say bye.

Because women get scared away by direct game, if you don't know someone and all of a sudden they start talking about how good looking you are and instantly wanting sex..yea a man would love that, but women need to be choosy with their partners, a man can impregnate her and leave, so you need to build comfort and get to know her first. Because it’s normal to talk about various things with people. When you talk to people do you always blurt out the most direct thing that is on your mind the moment you start taking to them? Most people don’t. The ones that do are a little weird.

You can convey intent through body language, what you say, etc… always going direct is weird. You’re a person capable of communicating in many dynamic ways. Use it.

The mindset should be to interact with someone new, to get a closer look to see if you like her. Trigger an emotional response, such as smiling, laughing, etc… have fun with people.

Always going direct is robotic pickup artist game. I say do it when it makes sense, such as when you get eye contact or approach indicators before or as you walk up. Otherwise be normal, use your dynamic personality and learn what women respond to best.

I agree with you in principle, but in practice flirting is distinct from a logical business pitch because you're really just trying to create an enjoyable, emotionally charged experience for the other person, and then selling the opportunity for more. I see indirect flirting as kind of a performance. You're just trying to make sure the other person has a good, fun time.

Why would you do it? Well, most people aren't just interested in fucking (me included), they want to make a genuine connection with a fun and interesting person. What makes a connection 'genuine'? Mostly, authentic conversation and relating to each other. What makes a person 'fun and interesting'? Mostly, banter, improv, and evoking emotions. So if you open indirectly and provide value in this way, you are selling yourself as an interesting and fun person who's genuinely interested in this other person.

One caveat is that if you're cold approaching in a setting where it isn't socially expected for men to approach women (basically any setting outside of a club/bar/singles meet-up), you can approach directly and most women will appreciate it, because the mere fact that you did approach shows them that you are genuinely and deeply interested in them. But especially in a bar setting, you've got to establish some emotional connection first, and show them that you're fun and interesting. The point of indirect flirting is to tick those boxes before attempting to escalate. It works best in a setting where the girl probably assumes you are hitting on her anyways.

Edit: I'll also add that good salesmen apply these principles too. The most persuasive sales pitches I've heard came from people who I've already formed a connection with who mentioned off-hand that they like a product (family and friends, but also Streamers, Youtubers and Podcasters who I listen to). I'm much more likely to buy an item at the farmer's market if the guy at the booth smiles at me and has a genuine conversation, even if none of that conversation is about the product.

When you get introduced to someone at a party and have a conversation with them, do you state your intentions? Like, "Hey, I just wanna get to know you and maybe shoot the shit"?

When you started having a convo with someone in school, did you do that?

Has someone said that to you after you randomly had a conversation with each other?

Conversations can come out of thin air and you don't have to be so serious or practical all the time. ~~Sometimes~~, no, a lot of the time, the interaction itself is where the value comes from, as long as its an engaging one.

The game community can be really funny and confusing in that they apply technical terms to things we don't even think about. It's actually good from a technical standpoint, but anyway, in this case what normal people would call "feeling out the vibe" is what the game community calls "indirect game"

Basically, you make a comment or what not and see how they react. It's actually really effective because it can save you a lot of time. If a woman is attracted to you, she'll smile or give another indication. If she thinks you're a weirdo or wants no part, she'll make that known too.

That's how you save yourself time. I personally don't bother approaching people unless they smile or at least repeatedly look at me. I'm sure I've missed out on some women this way but I really don't care

I used to feel like you .

I spent two years doing direct openers and it made me depressed. Massive rejection.

The principle of indirect is simple : you show interest , but you wait for her to get interested in you first .

To do so you use what I would call "accidental" strategies.

The magnetic spect of it comes from the fact that somewhere she knows you want to seduce her, but she is not sure...so it's that cat and mouse game that gets her to stick around and talk to you to find out .

But if it's well done by the time she finds out what you really want it's too late because she has already invested in you and she likes you too now.

Indirect is pretty much the ONLY way a guy that is a 5 could get with a 8 or 9, without using status .

It's also the most consistent way of getting results during the daytime. Direct seems more " honest " but it also signals to the girl that you lack social intelligence, hence you probably don't live in a higher social class.

In 2024 I became proficient at indirect, I get instant dates all the time now . Write me in private so we can talk more in-depth
