Happened to me once and it was pretty awkward. I just said "oh shit my bad and walked away" lol. But then I still made other approaches at the mall after.

It's sometimes an easy mistake to make. I feel like there are girls who are 15 now who don't look close to any of the girls who were 15 when I grew up.

It's gonna happen nowadays because younger girls are learning how to make themselves look older with makeup and accessories. But you did what you were supposed to do, you respectfully ejected apologized and left. That's all you can really do.

I did the same thing, approach a 13 year old and her dad was there. It ended up being my last ever cold approach, I couldn't get over it. Fortunately, I ended up coming up with new gameplans after I took cold approach off the table.

So consider this: the gross/wrong part of seeking out underage women is their inability to give informed consent. This creates an imbalanced power dynamic that is dangerous for the girl.

Your actions made it clear that you're not interested in abusing an imbalanced power dynamic or taking advantage of someone like that. I follow the "half your age plus seven" rule for the same reason, and usually add a couple years on top of that.

So maybe this is apologism, but... what's the harm? She was conventionally attractive despite her age. Many teenagers actively try to meet conventional beauty standards. And bodies dont age consistently at all; I've know guys going bald in highschool (RIP) and I had a friend in her mid 20s mistaken for a student at the middleschool she worked at.

The real question of who you are is about how you react when you have all the facts. If your priority is ensuring the safety and agency of the girl, I'd say you've got your head on straight. If not, kindly re-evaluate where you get your self-worth and seek counselling.

When I was 16 me and my brother who was 26 were at the mall and he umm what's the right word for this? "Encouraged" me to talk to some random girl that was with her mom. The girl was taller than me and looked to be about 2 years older than me, I approached and we started talking. I asked her how old she was and she said 13... I said my apologies and walked away.
