Whenever I fly solo to establishments like clubs, bars, galas or parties, I always socialize right away. This is for my benefits. As I’m actually introvert so I need to defeat my introversion. Idk about others, but mine is like a dark hole. The more I’m alone among others, the deeper I got sucked into it and the harder I can get out of it.

I would just hop on from 1 person to another. You can introduce your name and ask theirs (I usually do as a simple ice breaker). Or you don’t have to, especially if it’s more than 1 person or a small group, just give them a smile and a compliment (“hey, man I like your shirt it looks good on you! Where’d you get it?” Then you could follow up with “you guys together?” Or “you guys been here before? This is my first time”).

People usually respond to your small talks positively and you could get at least 2-5 mins from each person. Take advantage of this by scanning the surrounding -see if there’s a hot chick- But I always do this anyway, my background got me used to it. Always find out where an exit door is whenever I get into a building.

You may not realize but people in these type events usually watch others, too. So when you socialize with others, the women that you may hit on later probably already saw you at a glance. They saw you socializing with others, getting an impression that the people you talk to are your friends or at least know you.

Protip: never put yourself in a dark corner, it’s creepy and can be associated with you. Don’t hide yourself, let people see you. Don’t hesitate talking to people even in the middle of room. Talk, talk, talk. Watching people in the same room with you silently also gives creepy vibe.

You go out to enjoy your time within yourself. Period.

Some years ago I’ve started going out solo because I wanted to have fun but I didn’t have available friends to go out with, or the available ones didn’t fit the vibes.

I felt a bit weird the very first time I did it, but then I enjoyed it even more than when I was with friends. I did and got approaches without having to care about someone else that went out with me.

After some time I’ve met new like-minded social circles as well.

Dude - women aren’t going to be coming up to you. Who gives a fuck what you look like when sitting alone at a bar?

I’ll give you a tip: you’re literally invisible to women. I know it sounds crazy but women cannot see you unless you’re in their face and talking to them. 99% of gals literally don’t pay attention to the men in their surroundings unless they’re on a sidewalk alone at night. When a gal is in a bar - she isn’t scouting out the people or anything. You’re thinking like a man.

What you need to do is approach. You just need to keep going up to women and talking to them. You run out of gals to talk to at a bar? Go to the next one. Repeat until you’re satisfied.

Environment is such a huge factor and people gotta realize it. Yes you can go to the bar solo, but what bar are you going to? Is it empty, are the lights bright as fuck, is there sports on the TV instead of music, and are people even mingling across different groups? I have a bar that’s just like this and I never go to it, because I go to the one that’s the polar opposite instead. Low lights, loud music, and girls that come in groups all ready to have fun. That type of ambience makes it 10x easier to approach when the bar is packed and girls are squeezing next to you in order to get their drinks. You can be the one to flag the bartender over, spark a conversation, and even buy some cheap shots for them. Go somewhere so packed that if you get rejected, nobody will notice and you can move onto the next.

I travel far to the next neighborhood over in order to get this experience while the bars near me are dead and the demographic isn’t my type. But it’s so much more worth it.

Pick a bar that's more open / social. Where the vibe is people just hanging out and having a great time. Bar trivia nights are really easy mode, because you can just walk up to any table and say "hey, I need a team." Now you have a legit reason to sit and get to know everyone at the table. Pick a table with more girls than guys.

Introduce yourself to everyone in a very open and friendly way, except the girl that you're interested in. Not like you're specifically ignoring her, but like just the flow of introductions and you missed her by accident.

She's going to notice and be perplexed. She's thinking about you, she's confused, but probably blows it off quickly. But it's still a little thorn.

When someone nails an answer, you high five them and very openly give props. Not her. You can't do too much of this or it's going to be obvious, but the point is to isolate her from your flowing emotions and high praise, so that she wants it.

So after a bit of this setup, and the table feels comfortable with you, "oh, I just realized I never caught your name -- I'm Matt. ", and offer your hand. This can go two ways (1) she's going to be like "yeah, right, okay buddy." or she's going to be "I was starting to think I was invisible". You can then have a closer conversation, offer to buy her a drink to make up for it, etc.

Other possibilities: Hotel bars. Hotel bars really are fantastic, especially if there's a convention (e.g., nurses, teachers, realtors, sorority, etc.) where you know there will be a lot of women. You just show up, walk up to a group and use the opener: "Is this a sad wedding or something?" to no-one in particular, which will force one of them to chime in and say what it actually is. "oh nice, I thought you were the bride." This creates all sorts of possibilities, it's a bit neggy, and it creates a playful vibe right away. It's almost impossible to fail here, unless you blow out in an obvious way or if you're working the room too hard. You have to keep it smooth, otherwise the red flags will go up and you'll be locked out.

I've been complemented om going to the bar solo. I was out one night and asked if I could join a young man on the pool table. He had a group of females with him, he asked who I came to the bar with. I told him I was alone and he said how he respects that(mention he was to nervous to roll out solo). I asked him what girl he was trying to get with and I took the other. It was a great night back when my local dive bar had 2.50$ 25oz domestic poors.

Good advice would be to drink before going because it’s gonna make you more relaxed. You’re also need to come with the belief that people will benefit from talking to you, that’s the hardest part. Because you’re coming alone you may think to yourself “I have no friends to go with and I’m not valuable” even if yesterday you went out with your friends. That’s because as humans we always survived in groups. But if you seem to come confident, with style and a bit of mystery people are going to react positive for you. Because you seem valuable to them, that’s beyond getting girls btw. Also style is SUPER important, you can be below average looking but with GOOD style and people will be interested in you. Of course you need to be really interesting and not like this boring guys who have great style but acting boring and with zero charisma or character. But for first impression it’s gonna boost you

The only times it has worked for me is by the formula of; go into the bar and start conversations with the bartender. They are literally paid to be social and it’s also in their favour to keep you talking and social so they get a bigger tip. Next, talk to everyone. Guys and girls. I one time started a conversation with a guy who ended up having a single female friend in the bar who he introduced me to. I’d like to think of it as social circle game.

You dont look confident and fun when sitting alone. You look neutral at first, then more weird and sad the more people see you alone. Especially in a bar, where people will see you over and over.

Solution: Dont sit alone.

What you wanna do solo asap, is talk to everyone around you then etablish one or two base sets, like friends for the night. From there, you can go off and branch out to talk to more people.

Why are you just "sitting" there. Are there not people to talk to, be it other bar patrons, bar staff, door staff, women, etc?

If I do sit there alone, its generally because the bar has a TV with something on, at which point I am enjoying what I am watching, why would I care what other people think?

If I am in a bar alone having a drink, so what? Why care what other people think?

Once you stop caring what other people think, its a lot easier.
