I didn’t get over my previous gf which was short for 4 years til I finally found a woman who was interested in me. together 16 years cat 1 and 2. I don’t think I’ll ever heal.

Not long. Married 21 years. Mostly amicable with ex. Moved in with parents during divorce process for 2 years. Bought a motorcycle, then a house, and I'm only a school teacher. 4 years after finalized got engaged to greatest woman who has entered my life, other than my two daughters. Life gets better.

Married 20 years, together 23 years, separated 2, Divorce took 2 years and $25k, divorced now 11 months.

2 Restraining orders against her, Arrested twice, Wife arrested twice and once convicted of assault and battery, endured 20 years of physical and mental abuse, lost my 401K, destroyed car, all personal possessions thrown away, and in the process had two sons. Was it worth it?

Of course, I have two sons that are in college, love to death, both realtors and hopefully will be more successful and find better partners than me.

Time to get over her: The day she got me arrested and my parents bailed me out of jail. That same day, I got an officer to escort me to my house, got my stuff, moved out to my parents. Filed for divorce the next day.

Married 15 years, separated 2, divorced 6 months.

I filed a civil complaint against my ex for substance abuse and endangering the children through that substance abuse.

She lived in the house for 8 months after I filed. In truth I had been planning the divorce for a year prior to that and COULD NOT wait for her to be out of the house.

I was dating within 3 months and have had a healthy, stable, stable, and thriving relationship for a year and a half now with an absolutely amazing women.

Married 10 years together for 20. Divorced for 6 months. It’s tough. Miss the relationship and companionship more than her. Turns out she’s a pretty shitty person. So that makes it a little easier but again it’s tough to be alone / lonely.

Cat 2 - married 30yrs and she out of blue left last October. Didn't see it coming at all unfortunately so full traumatizing train wreck experience. I'm 54 now and despite best efforts and intentions, being honest have to say don't think I'll ever be getting over it. When she left she dropped me into a twilight zone that seems to be inside a black hole from what I can tell... Won't keep me from trying to get out, and hoping to be pleasantly surprised by a 'got over it' as so many guys say does happen eventually...

Been separated for 5 years, she left. Still getting over it, but I'm much better off today. My world was broken into a million glass shards. I like the man I've become so her leaving for greener pastures is a blessing in disguise.

I got over her during the marriage. The only reason I kept postponing the divorce was because she was blackmailing me, emotionally and physically, and I was trying to get everything prepared in case she does something irrational.

Eventually, I left her cause her behaviour became incredibly erratic, obsessive and psychotic and it was just a matter of time before she sets me up with something. She kept constantly playing a victim and faking incidents that never even happened. It was more of a sprint out of marriage than it was an ending.

The marriage was barely few months. She was nice at first but all of a sudden, her behaviour turned incredibly irrational and I figured something was wrong there.
