I know that I've said this before, but the sheer number of under/unqualified men in high-salary, with benefits, jobs is astounding. With a high school diploma or GED! There is a reason for this, it's called misogyny. Meanwhile, women with the same qualifications work in low-paid hourly service positions with no benefits, all while raising children often on their own.

Also have read that overall incompetent managers are chosen because companies think you NEED extroverts with confidence but many times that confidence is blind and they would have been better served with a more polite, cautious, critically thinking introvert.

So the unearned confidence pays for itself and fools the hiring team. Confidence does not equal competence.

One argument against the gender wage gap is that most places pay the men and women the same pay rates for the same position. However, being a female in a male-oriented workplace, my experience in the gender wage gap has been that I don’t see them promoting the women, hence subduing their pay that way, by promoting a male, regardless of qualifications, over the qualified female. That is one way we get the gender wage gap, that no one likes to talk about.
