My problem is that I can't trust women anymore. I get a lot of interest from women but shut it down due to trust issues. I totally get that. I really struggled with whether or not I'd be able to trust again. It bothered me that the ONE person I gave my trust to betrayed me. I'll just tell you that once I was healed from all that nonsense it's like I leveled up and attracted the right one. And you'll know that you are healed because the trust stuff won't be an issue anymore. The way I view it is …

They believe and are taught that they can beat them up. My buddy ran into this with his 13 year old daughter. She told him that if a robber broke in she would just kick him. She learned this from Tv shows and movies........commercials paint men as weak and bubbling fools. Why wouldn't a 13 year old think she could defender herself from someone 3 times her size?

Your struggle is because when men marry we do it for life. We're not quitters. That is why it's so hard. But why live comfortably miserable? Far too many husbands live comfortably miserable because of what I stated above. I have been divorced a year and a half and I live by this statement and always will. My happiness is paramount. As the great Patrice O'Neal said "A happy man is a happy relationship. A happy woman is a miserable man" I have been happy since we finalized and continue to get bett…

As someone who has walked this journey for 7 years I'll give you the short quick answer. But nothing is short and nothing is easy. Get a lawyer and end it now. There's no way as a man even if she did come back crawling on her knees begging for forgiveness that you could look at yourself with any dignity or respect. You'd be lying to yourself if you think you can. Truly doing yourself dirty. Cut your losses and move on. That is my advice. That said.....the long hard answer for me is that I wanted…

Unfortunately the system and courts don't really care unless you have evidence of neglect. No they never change. I did see somewhere that in order for a narcissist to change they have to see someone see their behavior. The example they used was a man used to beat his wife....well the dog jumped on him to try and break it up. The husband saw that the dog saw he was abusing his wife. This realization made him see his behavior and as a result was able to change. How messed up is that. What helped m…

The silver lining in all of this is that we co parent well together. A year removed and am finally hitting the closure phase. None of which comes from her. It is pointless because they cannot see their wrong doing. However, I've had dreams where I confirm the things I speak about. I've also been able to reflect on things with long motorcycle rides. Thank you for asking!

That was the real son of a gun for me. I was made the enemy because she cheated. Of no doing of my own. Was I perfect? Heck no. I think the hardest thing for me was for 15 years I had butterflies for this woman. I'd speed home from work to be with her. When I'd get home before her and the garage door would go up my heart would jump. And then she cheated on me and all that went away. Of no doing of my own. I expected that because she did the worst thing to me that she would attempt to change and …

Ya man....it's brutal. I call it being drug thru glass naked. Of no choice of my own. She cheated on me and made me the bad guy. I hear ya. I'm honestly not sure if I didn't have my faith and my son where I'd be. He was the whole reason I stood up to her. There was no way I could tell him not to settle and then let him see me miserable. Kids know.

I too have a 4 year old. It's one of the silver linings in all this that she doesn't try to keep him from me. Hang in there man. I heard a good quote I revisit from time to time. "Every day above dirt is a good day" Your son needs you!

Agreed on not having to agree. I'll tell you why I made this post. I log in and see a guy saying he's killing himself. I had a couple shots in me. And thus the reason why the tone. No way I'd made this sober. But now I'm glad I did and I'll explain why. No one is coming to save you. And I'm not trying to be some macho here. You hit the nail on the head. What we're ultimately healing from is a broken heart. And as men that's not something that comes naturally because we're taught to suppress our feelings and emotions. I'm convinced healing from a broken heart is one of the hardest things. In my research the top three traumas to happen in a marriage are (in no order) Loss of a spouse (death or divorce) Loss of a child Infidelity The important thing is to do like we are. We continue to move forward. To work on ourselv…

Yep. You have to remember sin is a slow leak....not a blow out. I recently heard a pastor say that if you are disinterested in people that in God's eyes you are hating. This was my response to his youtube video. Sometimes the best form of "love" is boundaries. I'm not going to be interested or show ANY interest in my ex wife that cheated on me and divorced me. If you want to call that hate then Jesus and I will discuss this when I meet him in heaven. This teaching can cause condemnation to the b…

Spot on with the simps. But they are part of the system and brainwashed to be the savior\man of the relationship. Ask a woman to pay for half the bill or ask what her value outside her looks is and you get the three headed stare. It's okay and should be expected in the backwards society. The "church" is some of the worst in this regard to just "man up".........all the while very good men are being abused and taken advantage of thru the system\alimony\child support. And the church just takes care…

I'm going to give a long answer here. Communication. Mainly, believe it or not her not listening. I made myself clear all the time. Either she didn't want to listen or didn't care. That was a huge red flag. Because of her narcissism she made it seems like I was the problem for a lot of years but the red flag was there in the beginning. The real mind bender is that I still have the letters we wrote each other before marriage and how she said she wanted to be a Godly wife and was actively seeking …

Oh tons of red flags and getting married me 23 and her 20. But what do you do when burning the candle at both ends in a Christian environment? The condemnation and judgment for living together out of wedlock wasn't an option. It took all that was in us not to have sex before marriage. But to answer your question. Yes tons of red flags but most are in hindsight. I was "in love" lust to see the forest from the trees. To be very honest it's a struggle right now in today's climate "modern femenised …

Good points and honestly that's good perspective. Irregardless, 2022 is a mine field like no other. The false bill of goods of feminism sold to modern day women is cancer. And they took the bait. You're absolutely correct though......from a trust stand point getting into another relationship. No one wants to be under scrutiny and it can lead to things. I think that they all do\did. If you're going to be honest and move forward you have to look at that. Take ownership where it applies. The cool thing with most of them is that I never even needed to bring this up. They were already doing self inventory. By and large the vast majority ran into discontent and nothing was ever good enough. I think that was due to their spouse having a side game. And once you get into that mode....it's game over. For myself, when we tried counseling and so forth....…

If it were not for my relationship with Christ I would be in a jail cell and many people would be hurt and maimed. The system is so jacked. I had a lawyer screw me over. A pastor who took her side and never once reached out to me. Despite becoming a member of the church and meeting with him regularly for coffee and so forth. Really disappointing. But yes. To be honest, I am just spit balling. I bet Jordan Peterson type could give you better answers. I think when it comes to cheating there are so many factors involved. My wife came from two of the most Godly parents you'd ever meet. We were virgins when we married. I always thought that would keep us together. And I knew for sure if she ever cheated I'd be done. So there you go. Her father died in our 5th year of marriage and her mother had alzheimer's in the 15th. I believe she was cheating on me…

It takes awhile man. I'm on the other side of 7 years total process. Those first few months were very very tough.......so don't beat yourself up in the process. You have to walk it out. The best advice I can give you is to set goals. Short\medium\long. In the process of setting goals make sure to take a good long look at yourself. See what you like and what you don't and what you need to work on or adjust. The goals can be anything from working out and weight loss to projects with your vehicle o…

Been divorced for almost a year. I look in on this couple from time to time as I'm grilling. (neighbors) They like to have their "talks" outside on their porch. While I can't hear the convo I am excellent at body language. The chick is never happy. The dude is chill and just shakes his head the whole time she's nagging and complaining about whatever. Then I go back to grilling my steak and having a couple drinks. I smile each and every morning I wake up. No back\neck pain. Well rested. No drama.…

Those are all fair and great points. Processing is a good thing. It helps us put into perspective our current feelings along with whether or not they are valid. One way or the other. That's for you to conclude. As a piggy back to your last point about being friends. I think this comes down to the individuals. I co parent well with my ex but if I heard an 18 wheeler T-Boned her and she died I wouldn't be phased in the least. This will be in effect for the remainder of my life. It's just who I am.…

Just recently I found out it was another guy that she met in FL. Oh I'd venture to say the trip was because she had communicated with him long before that. Exactly what you explained happened to me. She came back from some business trip. Suddenly, I wasn't affectionate enough and didn't do this or that right. She's like you didn't even kiss me when you picked me up. I guess that's why they call it betrayal. And look, I don't even fault her......there's no reason to get mad over someones software. It's just built into them. One of the hardest pills I had to swallow during this thing was that at it's base she didn't like me. Period. It was a swift kick to the balls. I sat on that for a few days and the…

I can honestly say that since I've been divorced everything in my life has gotten better and drastically improved. Doesn't matter where you are in the process. All that matters is that you too get to be happy. It's been a long journey but I am truly happy and am the rock for my son going forward. All the best to you!

First attorney was almost worthless.....charged me a retainer for 17 months and negotiated things for settlement that I hadn't agreed to or wanted. Second attorney did me right.....she supported men fighting for their children. It was the craziest time in my life. My best advice....don't allow your emotions to get involved whatsoever......trust me.....stay the course and keep your emotions in check.

Well said. I have a couple friends that their mother cheated on their father. They could see the dad's misery. The lack of affection for one another as children. However, the father was old school and wasn't going to divorce for the sake of the kids. And yet.....what did he really teach them? To settle. To be comfortably miserable. No way I could ever do that to my son. Onward and upward my friend. I wish you nothing but the best!

True story....I used to commute.....transferred closer. So I thought cool I'll see if the wife wants to meet up for lunches. This woman is delusional. Recovery from a woman who cheats is damn near impossible. Even if it did survive the man will ALWAYS question what he gained. The best way to deal with a true narcissist is to walk in truth. I dealt(ing) with a covert narc for 20 years. She loved to talk about herself and work and troubleshoot. Pointing out "whining" only shows you lack empathy and compassion. The fact is that most men are fucked by the system through alimony and child support. Most of which because 80-90% of women initiate divorce. Anytime a man expresses himself it's whining or he's "weak". I'm only responding to you because men don't have a place to let out experience and emotion.....and when they do....someone calls it whining.

Some that get marriage raped never learn either.....I know a guy married 4 times now. In the middle of 3 and 4.......he went something like 8-10 years alone. The guy was fit and ate healthy....grew his own garden and such. Then he met 4....I kid you not they married in 2 weeks. When we met up for dinner about a year after he remarried......he told me that he hardly goes out alone or without her. I could see that he had gained a fair bit of weight. 70-80% of divorces are initiated by women. Spare me with both sides are to blame. That's just complete bullshit. As for taking responsibility for her not feeling loved and "he made me feel special" that's bullshit too. I can give you 10-12 men I know personally that their wife fucked up their marriage for some tingles. Most with multiple kids.

I come from faith. Meaning I have a relationship with Christ. So I did want a divorce.....but I couldn't get release and peace in the decision. God wouldn't let me......so I was dragged though a 20 month battle. A battle to get what was mine and for my son. Because of my faith I am not in a jail cell. Trust me if I were in my 20's there would be a lot of maimed people in my life and I'd be happily smiling. To answer your question about a silver lining.....this is about you giving your best....no…

Fedor Emelianenko had a win streak from 2001 to 2009 27 wins in a row....he said that he just felt bad for every opponent before the fight. Staring over at them. As of late my experience with mens groups is a bunch of pansy's whining about their marriage. They use the group as an emotional\spiritual tampon. It's gross.

Your story is a lot like mine.....but my ex cheated. It was like once she felt empowerment to go after he dreams and I supported her she got entitled. It's built into their software. Truly evil vile selfish beings that can only think for themselves. What they don't understand if it wasn't for the support we provided they wouldn't be where they are. Honestly though....it's their loss. You need to process this.....and do it thoroughly. Don't take short cuts but also don't dwell on things too long.…

I am in a position now that I can red pill men. When I explain that they too are the prize and they don't have to be miserable in marriage it's like the scene in the matrix when Neo is unplugging. I used to be on the other side but being cheated on me woke a sleeping giant. One red pill at a time. How sad that red pills are stating the obvious. I've taken it a step further though. You should see the looks when I ask why the state is involved in marriage to begin with.

I have no preconceived notions....I'm just suggesting to process everything and take your time.

No doubt.....it's worse though because the men in the church by and large subscribe to "yes dear" and "happy wife happy life" Jesus wasn't a fucking cuck but men in the western church certainly are.

Bro their software cannot be reprogrammed. Since the dawn of time....Eve in the garden shows you all you need to know. You cannot negotiate with software or DNA that is ingrained. My "major event" was that she cheated on me......then proceeded to play the victim. If there was anyone on the planet that had every opportunity to change it would be her. Through grace and mercy as I tried to make sense of everything. In the end she dragged me through hell......and what was I asking? A simple I'm sorr…

It's a marathon and not a sprint. Everyone processes differently. My only voice is to get the most out of it. If you distract and chase tail it will not be pleasant for you down the road. What I mean by that is that it's very easy to distract and slay pussy. Just use moderation. It's a drug that can be as harsh as crack. It'll leave you lost and empty. Let the process flow and best to you.

It's a process. A hard and long process. The emotional ties husbands have to their wives is so strong. In my case she cheated on me. You play these weird "If only" games. For me....I wanted to leave no stone unturned. I'll just tell you that it was good and horrible. She had a boyfriend the whole time we were going through divorce. She's still with him and my 3 year old son told me the other day me, mommy, and Josh went to the zoo. All I can say in the long hard process.....is that no matter wha…

Settle in my friend. Try to remember that there battles you will lose in order to win the war. Don't get dragged into the pettiness and things that don't matter over all. You can bet your ass the kids are next that she's going to leverage. I'd go as far to say to be prepared for the A Bomb......that is that she accuses you of molesting or sexually assaulting your children. Be prepared for the worst. I'd start getting every interaction of importance in email or text for the time stamps. If not al…

Good perspective. Some things come to mind as I read your post. Don't beat yourself up over the "what if's" and the "coulda's". Don't live in the rear view mirror.....only reference it while getting to your next destination The grass is greenest where you water it......not on the other side. Lastly, and something I'm grasping........women and men have built in software. What we are made up of. Other than a supernatural intervention from God or whatever you ascribe to does that begin to change. L…

No one should be miserable in a marriage. I don't care you if you come from faith or not.......had my wife not cheated on me I certainly would have been MISERABLE till death. Honestly, get all your ducks in a row....consult attorney's and map the best path. Get it all lined out. I know a couple same age with a little older kids (out of the house) and it was absolute war and hell once the divorce started. Everything changes once you open that door. You can expect her to go into complete victim mo…

I hear you my friend. I had that happen a lot. The emotions are totally normal. Just gotta ride the waves that crash. Just like the ocean there seems to be one wave followed by another one. Just when you think you are good the other one sneaks up on ya. I will tell you though.....I wouldn't be the man I am today or the Father without walking through emotion and pain and anguish. Not to be religious but the popular Bible verse Psalm 23.....it's says though I WALK through the valley of death. We g…

Not a bad idea....I'd keep everything of importance to email and text so you have a record and time stamp for it. Something I had to keep in mind with my ex was that there were going to be battles lost in order to win the war. By that I mean.....as a 10 month old she'd keep my son at her boyfriends till 12-1am on the weekends when his normal bedtime was 7pm. It was very hard but once I got it in my mind that there's just going to be some losses I cannot control I did much better. In the big pict…

STD's Most women are crazy. Don't stick your dick in crazy At my age I think with my big head not the little one. Sex isn't important. Last and most importantly.....my wife will be pumped and dumped the rest of her life. Now days modern life is empty and shallow. That's not the example I'll be having for my son.

In my case being the respondent worked out because any bullshit she'd pull I'd just adjust accordingly. What a mess with lawyers and the court system. But damn it I won! Leverage and making correct choices. Some even in the 11th hour kept her from her plans of not having my son. Evil vile snakes!

Go in with a plan. Stick to the plan. Don't let them try to belittle or talk down to you. The mediator will most certainly try to take her side. Stand up for what you believe in. They will try to twist things and expect your wife to bring tears and want sympathy. STAND YOUR GROUND! By this....use leverage where needed and stick to it. If they are able to counter your leverage circle back to this later.

My mother lost my brother to suicide and I asked her about this. She told me it never goes away and she thinks about him just about every day. She said she learned to just put it on a shelf. From time to time she takes it off and processes things and then puts it back. I truly believe when you get cheated on.....you just learn to put it on a shelf and do the same thing.

I don't think so.......I don't have first hand experience but it's on the same level as losing a child or a spouse. In fact, in my studies the three most traumatic things in a marriage are....in no order.... Loss of a spouse Loss of a child Infidelity I think it will always stick with you.

They don't want to accept responsibility nor do they want to be held accountable in order to rebuild trust. It's all about "me" in their mind. It's built into their software. I'm just glad my stuff is over. We co parent fine which is a bonus but she's clueless on life. Oh well, her loss.

That's exactly their plan. Remember it's not about winning. It's about control. All the while she will project upon you that you are dragging it out. It's a sick game. My ex had a boyfriend on the side as we went through all our stuff. She thought she was so slick trying to hide it from me. She left her burner phone once.....and then I found out where she was staying with our 1 year old at the time on the weekends. Narcs are horrible horrible evil vile snakes.

I get your analogy but the dopamine and serotonin levels these females get from men in these apps are no comparison. I've seen at least six or seven 10-20 year marriages go down the drain because of this. These women have had anywhere from 1-5 kids and have threw it all away for some attention and being railed. And guess what? In the end they were left with nothing. They still don't get it either. They blame everyone but themselves. At least you have an income and a job and always will. Most of …

It's called projection. She's shining onto you what is coming from her. Bro you're going to need to get mentally tough in this battle. How do you deal with this you ask? It's a lot of soul searching. I use my phone note pad and write things as they come to me. For instance my ex used to tell me that I sat on my ass and never did anything. Oh I hear ya. My ex was staying at her boyfriends (she didn't think I know about him or the address) and was keeping our 10 month old out till 12-1am....when his bedtime was 7pm. "As long as he gets sleep it doesn't matter when he goes to bed" One of the hardest things was having my son call me the boyfriends name and know star wars characters when I had yet to introduce him to them (the boyfriend). It was pure hell.....but I made it :)

Get it out man and continue to use this sub to vent and ask questions. I wouldn't give her this letter.......it was more for you. A suggestion is to give her nothing but bullet points. No emotion and no excuses. Make your moves and don't look back. Trust me when I tell you the less explaining and emotion the better. She will only play on your emotions and reasons and belittle you. Move forward with your head held high. All the best!

Divorce in 2014 was a 50 BILLION DOLLAR business.....imagine what it is in 2021. There are far too many lawyers and judges benefiting off the slave wages of men to make any kind of change. Hate to burst your bubble but money trumps all. No one is changing that.

I certainly didn't come out bad....other than her cheating on me and then playing the victim. That alone is hard stuff and yet not uncommon from what I read here. I try to keep perspective that it could have been a lot worse. That said, the 20 month divorce until we reach a settlement was pure hell.....her running around with boyfriends. My 2 year old calling me their names........her trying to use my son against me. It was probably the hardest 2 years of my life but I FUCKING MADE IT!
