I find it quite interesting that there are so many people in the comments trying to defend... pot. The idea that something negative could happen while on pot seems to really rile them up.

Other than that, yeah this is pretty fucked up, little surprised at the lack circumcision jokes on their part. For some reason male genital damaging is both OK and sometimes funny to a large swath of people.

Huffington Post is a piece of dogshit. I don't think ay intelligent person reads the Huffington Post beyond the age of 18. It's a tabloid for liberal teenagers, who think they are smarter than their friends because they 'know' about the 'patriarchy' and are social justice warriors. They think they are grown-up reading some extremely biased left-wing perspective, because 'truth has a liberal bias'.

They also heavily censor their comments. The vast majority of my comments are removed for no reason, none ever given, just because they don't concur with the extremely liberal perspective of the Huffington Post. It is the MSNBC of the internet, trying to pretend to be independent, when it is just as biased as Fox in the other direction.

Most of its contributors are avowed Feminists and its commenters always display a Feminist bias, so don't be surprised that they hate men and think male castration is hilarious.

I wouldn't be too hard on the writer here. One of the ways that people deal with issues that make them uncomfortable is to make jokes about them. I think that what she did was insensitive but somewhat understandable. Sharon Osborne by contrast openly endorsed the idea of vigilante castration with evident audience approval. That is a very different, far more offensive and disturbing matter.

A man who made a similar joke about female genital mutilation (is there a comparable joke?) would, of course, have his ass fried. So there is the old double standard at work. That, I think, is the problem.

Look, it's horrible that the man was tortured, and it's insensitive that Huffington Post makes a joke about it, but is this really something we need to complain about? The MRM has always been about free speech, even when it disagrees with our points. If Huffington Post wants to throw in a few jokes here and there about a very serious issue, so be it.

Look, at least Huffington Post is reporting on the issue in the first place. They're bringing light to the fact that woman can commit violence just like men can, something our society seems to be oblivious to.

The real problem here is not that Huffington Post is making a joke about a serious matter, rather that the criminal is probably going to receive a much lighter sentence for being female.
