Original Post

Some of you might remember me, and some of you might not. A while back, I posted my story of how a girl I hooked up with falsely accused me of rape and I sat in jail for 43 days before being able to make bail. When I posted the story initially, I hadn't gone to trial yet. It was postponed for yesterday (Nov 16). It was going to be the first in a series of court dates, as I hadn't even picked a jury yet.

I am happy to report that all charges were dropped and I was acquitted. The state's attorney realized that the girl was lying (through holes in her story/her story continuously changing, and my lawyer's hard work). My lawyer told me, afterwards, that I have two options. He gave me the paperwork to get all the charges expunged from my record, which I can do immediately at no cost. But, if I do that, I waive my right to take her or the state (for false arrest) to court. However, if I decide to pursue either her or the state in court, I will not be able to expunge the charges from my record for three years. I haven't decided what my next step will be, and I'm heavily debating it. On one hand, I'm glad it's all over and I just want to erase it from my life. But, on the other hand, I spent 43 days sitting in a jail cell for something I didn't do. I missed countless days of work, and my life has been affected in more ways (physically and emotionally) than I'd like to count. I deserve some sort of retribution, whether it be financially or taking her to court and charging her with making a false report.

Anyway, this is getting long-winded. I just wanted to report back and thank you guys for your kind words and advice. I can say that the one good thing that came from this whole situation is that it opened me up to the MRA community, and I'm thankful for that.

EDIT: Been busy as shit today, and just got a chance to finally hop on here and reply to you guys. Sorry for the delay! And thank you guys for your support.
