An LWMA is an LWMA not matter the gender, I'm a trans man myself, and I'm sure you'll find most people are more supporting than not of trans issues in the MRM movement. :)

Practically the only thing I oppose is toxic feminism, for the rest my slogan is "live and let live".

For my taste "MensLib" is too misandrist and the message of many of their posts and comments are "only men are bad and need to change and it's only bad if men abuse women but not vice versa, that's fine" but that's my opinion. For others MensLib is fine and feel free to be active there if you enjoy it, that's up to everyone (:

The underlying motivation for TERFs is male exclusion from gender equality, or MERFs.

And while they've done a good job addressing TERFs, MERFs are still rampant in the feminist movement.

We definitely want to include women: strait, gay, trans, or whatever else. A lot of these issues affect everyone. So to untie this knot, you have to be inclusive.

I'm a trans girl too and I've been here quite a while. Still just as angry about men's issues, even though I no longer see myself a man.

Although to be fair as trans girls misandrist stereotypes are often amplified and lumped on us. Terfs have called me a rapist-pedo for literally nothing. This is just how they view everyone of male sex.

I welcome you as a trans girl, although I warn you we are almost all antifeminists here. In time you'll probably come to see the reasons for that, whether you agree or not. The main reason being that feminism has never truly been a movement for equality and comes prepackaged with a lot of suppositions and assumptions about the world that simply aren't true.

I was in the same boat. I was all for calling out transphobia and gender conformation but i kept noticing myself walking on eggshells and I couldn’t keep pretending like that wasn’t a problem. It’s not really about having ‘lived’ as a man but more just realizing that women have agency and can also abuse, which feminists just completely ignore.

Wait, why fuck Harry styles? I think he’s awesome for having the balls to wear dresses and stuff, unless there’s something I missed.

I’m a gay guy and I had to leave men’s lib not only for its misandry but also for its homophobia that flairs up when they let terfy and merfy posters run rampant making subtle homophobic statements that you’re not allowed to challenge. I almost made a post here on my experience there but wasn’t sure if it’d get deleted.

As for here, it’s a slightly uncomfortable fit too in the opposite direction because I feel there can be a lot of anger here at times which is understandable but can be counterproductive and antithetical to rational discussion on issues, but overall I feel most people here have their heart in the right place and want true equality for all, and most importantly the moderation is a million times better than over at men’s lib which is probably the most horrific moderation I’ve ever seen in a sub.

And I agree, MensLib is a sub that simply serves the conscience and not issues. Nothing interesting, thought provoking or let alone a constructive discussion - though this also means I have not spend much time there, so idk. I felt like that sub exists as an argument for people who do not care about men's issues to shut up men who speak up about them and the fact that people do not care. Like: "Look! We do care!"...

I’ll be blunt with you. LWMA accepts all people, or all genders, identities, protected statuses, etc. We welcome everybody (as long as you’re civil and aren’t a misogynist or misandrist — we don’t tolerate women hating here).

I completely agree with you. r/MensLib is a pandering sub. It’s goal is to provide awareness of men’s issues that palatable to feminist (predominantly women) and I suspect that most people on the subreddit aren’t even men (because of their subreddit overlap).

But to be blunt again, we are either non-feminist or anti-feminist here in this sub. This is not the same thing as being anti-women. You can be critical of a movement without being critical of the identity it supports.

Just be civil and don’t attack the genders, attack the ideas.

I'm not an official representative of the sub, but as far as I'm concerned the only thing that matters is that you are willing to at least entertain the notion that men and boys real human beings and have legitimate issues and concerns; and that they are not the sole, or even the main, cause of issues and concerns that affect women and girl. Whether you're a girl, boy, non-binary, or simply unsure is irrelevant (other than the ways your identity may give you a different perspective).

Can someone explain to me what is wrong with r/menslib?

I've read a couple of times that they do a half-way job of looking at men's issues but I guess I would like if someone, in plain English, told me what their issue is. I don't go there much because I find it very feminist and tend to deal with the "non-issues" that are still important but aren't really my biggest concern.

I've lurked very little so I get the idea that they are a very moderate, very milquetoast men's advocate group. Am I far off?

Edit: Anyone can advocate for anyone, you being a girl changes nothing and I still appreciate your support.

Wow it just hit me how extremely awkward it must be for trans girls to be categorized under misandrist ideas when they don’t even identify as a man anyway.

Like, at least I can escape into some of the male tropes and use them as a kind of mask. Certain ones can act like a refuge if you now how to play up people’s expectations. But that obviously isn’t something you can do without triggering dysphoria.

One of my best friends is trans too and she is one of the most vocal supporters of men that I know because she was raised as one. I can actually talk to her about this kind of stuff when I’m afraid that other people might automatically dismiss what I have to say or label me a neckbeard.

Trans people have a valuable and unique perspective IMO, because they’re the only ones who have lived as both genders.
