Meh, I've worked for companies whose political stances I disagree with. It's possible she aligns with her employer's stance on every issue, but I see no reason to assume that she does.

She wrote a book on how the education system treats boys, (I haven't read it, there's so many books I need to read) which seems to align with a lot of the topics that appear in this sub. I follow her twitter, she is a bit too right wing for my tastes, but I think she presents a nice counter to other more left wing feminists like Roxane Gay and Liz Plank.

I always enjoy hearing her speak though. I've listened to Greg Ellis' "The Respondent" and she was on with someone else a few weeks ago.

Im not left wing, but I follow this subreddit because I think most of the content here is pretty good.

Im not an expert on Christina Hoff Sommers, but it seems like she is a reasonable feminist who also cares about male issues. The fact that she cares about male issues has given her a bad reputation among leftists. This shows that many modern leftists aren't interested in true equality, theyre interested in the pissing content that is identity politics.

This is what I dislike about modern leftism. Its heavily invested in identity politics instead of true equality. Your post is an example of it. In your post, you said "Christina Hoff Summers has done good work debunking feminist propaganda, but she works for a right wing company." This implies that her opinion might be invalid just because she works for a right wing company.

The reality of this situation is that people like Christina Hoff Sommers can't work for leftist media because leftist media would immediately reject her based on the fact that she speaks about male issues. The intolerance of the left has driven many people to conservative media. Not because those people are conservative, but because the left wants to "cancel" them for going against leftist dogma.

Tl:dr - People like Christina Hoff Sommers are great, but leftists want to censor them because their opinions dont fit with modern liberal dogma.

No one is perfect. I am able to disagree with a person on one topic and agree with them on another, without disliking or liking the person as a whole.

She is traditionalist. Yes she cares about men and boys but she thinks the best thing for them is for them to be valued in their traditional roles again.

I would hope that is not what the people here want. What I want for men is what feminism has done for women. That is to open up traditionally feminine roles and expression to men and boys and have the men who chose to adopt them just as valued as the women who do.

She strikes me as an anti-feminist. Her self-proclaimed feminism may be a convenient cloak to bash the faux left by criticising the woke positions of the corporatist liberal establishment from a conservative point of view. Any support for the interests of men coincide with bashing feminism. Find any examples of her advocating for public funding to house the homeless, provide refuges for abused men, paid parental leave for fathers, or taxpayers support for childcare instead of squeezing maintenance from dads, and I'll reconsider my view of her.

The current anti-marxist, anti socialist, anti libertarian socialist, anti trans atmosphere is every bit as dangerous as all the crazy woke bullshit going on.

CHS seems reasonable but she also has a general pro capitalist pro corporate bent that will show up when the chips are diwn.

If men's advocates weren't allowed to use rightist or even just non-leftist sources, there would be no such thing as an MRM or anything similar. Leftist male advocates are only a rather recent phenomenon and it would be madness to reinvent all your ideas from scratch. Or does anybody here like to start some kind of Male Judean Liberation Front?

Considering her being a right-winger, I wouldn't consider her a good advocate for male issues.

People who advocate for gender issues should be left-wing. The right promotes traditionalism, which is antithetical to gender liberation.

And for those who are gonna say I'm gatekeeping, look at the current MRA movement. Their "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" approach with conservatives is why they're so reactionary and terrible to begin with. Why do you think this sub exists in the first place?
