In civilized world every other market is regulated, products have to be correctly labeled they have to have prices, guarantees, service period, return period... etc. Failure to follow said rules can result in lawsuits, jailtime, losing license to trade etc.

In dating market the only rule is that you can't directly trade money for sex. I guess that would ruin all the magic of throwing money in hopes of getting sex or whatever. Other then that pretty much everything else goes.

And dating market is full of people which go beyond trying to present themselves in the best light. Some people lie about their status. Married men present themselves as single trying to cheat on their wives, women in relationships hide it to get much needed attention from single men. Even people who are already seeing someone lie. Pictures are getting photoshoped to comical degree, children from previous relationships are being hidden away. People act attraction and lead on in hopes of extracting value.

The list goes on.

The dating apps goal is not to find you a partner but to keep you paying for as long as possible, and their algorithms are aimed to do just that. How many people would unload their cash if they knew ratio on men to women on these apps in 3-1 or even 4-1?

And there is a whole industry of using sex to sell products, hot women are used to sell anything from bubble gums to agricultural machinery.

Is it so weird that more and more people are abandoning dating?
