There is a common argument among detractors of the “dark arts” (PUA/TRP) that the advice only works on insecure people (notice how I called women people, before anyone accuses me of misogyny), which I have some issues with. Also, those same people will also say the advice is common advice you can get elsewhere, meaning they’re essentially saying common advice only works on insecure people.

My issue with this argument is that even if this is the case, that doesn’t take anything away from the advice or whether those who want higher quality people for matters of lust and/or love should follow it. I assume the people following the advice want attractive people.

The fact of the matter is, most people in general, are somewhat insecure, about SOMETHING. Is there anyone who is completely secure? It depends on your definition of “secure”. Many are “secure” with being overweight, not taking care of their mental health or physical health. Many are “secure” with being slobs and what have you.

The “hot” women didn’t just wake up hot. Of course, some may think overweight, blue pixie haired grumpy women are hot. There are always going to be outliers. And those women are probably more secure than the women you see with the perfect hair, body, and outfit. They woke up a 6, but appear to be a 9.

You didn’t see how the sausage was made. They had to put on makeup, earrings, jewelry, nice shoes, and brush their hair and teeth. They are insecure because they put in a lot of work with how they come across to others. It makes them feel a bit more secure being the sexy person that turns heads.

So my argument is that the hotter they are, the more insecure they are.
