I agree that both men and women need to be held to the same standard, even if it is for the physical tests. There will be some women that will stand out and pass regardless and I have no problem with that.

The worst job of all would have to be a firefighter with a female partner.

If you had a male partner, you'd know he qualified to be a firefighter purely on his merits and passed a set of physical tests designed to ensure that, if you pass out in a burning building, he is strong enough to carry you out, while you're both wearing the usual (heavy) protective equipment.

If you have a female partner, none of that is true. You're essentially on your own.

When my ship was refitted (altered inside and out) to accommodate female crew for sea service out of the fist three batches of female “ship mates” 22% chose to get pregnant to avoid sea service. How do I know? I was good friends with my medical officer and he didn’t like this “loop hole”.

It is sickening to know that someone out there that is responsible to save someone's life has a lower bar for entry than someone else. I was thinking of joining my countries police force many years ago and the physical test they had incorporated WAY lower requirements for women. I brought up this fact and was simply told by the male instructor with a sigh that it was 100% for diversity hires and that he refused to work in the field with a woman on that fact alone... I promptly pulled my application. I don't want to risk my life and have to count on someone that has a lower bar of entry to protect me if needed.

This has been a problem in the military for years. I was in the army and the women's standard is much lower and they still can't pass it. The problem comes in where it counts of the battlefield. I have yet to see a female drag a 200lb+ male off the battlefield without help. Most men I knew could drag a man with body armor on mind you out of the fight. Yeah it sucked knowing if you got hit there's a high chance that you could die bc somebody couldn't pull their weight.

The second and probably most infuriating problem IMO is the fact thar the promotion systems aren't split by gender. The areas on the promotion sheet are physical fitness, awards, schools, civilian education, and promotion board points. Since females have lower physical standards it's easy for them to rack up more points than you in that particular area. In the Army you're competing with everyone with the same job.

When I was in it was push up, sit up, and run. The test Max score is 300 when all 3 areas are totaled. So if a female does the max pushups for female (42 reps) she gets the whole 100 points. For a male her max is your min (42 reps) and your max is 72 reps. The situp standard is the same for both but the run is insanely skewed like in the OP case. As you get older the standard for your age group drops. It seemed like the old ugly chicks were ranking up fast taking advantage of that standard.

In Afghanistan we had an infantry NCO take shrapnel to his right leg and shoulder. He couldn’t move himself at first. We had a female drop her rifle (not to the ground as it was slung but not in a way as to continue defending herself) and attempt to use 2 hands to drag him back behind cover. She acted quickly, deliberately, and at the right time to grab him. Problem was, he was about 190 before kit and she was about 125 without kit. She couldn’t move him and she was probably the 2nd most physically capable female soldier I’ve ever met. I was about 175 at the time and was able to grab his vest by the carrying handle with one arm and drag him the 8 or so feet back to cover while maintaining control of my rifle.

She was very well trained and I still respect her for her diligence and tenacity today, but she wasn’t physically strong enough to do what took me one hand. It isn’t a lack of respect, it’s a lack of basic capability.

I was in the Navy 6 years myself. I never improved my run time. My stamina was the same. I was 130lbs and 5'6". Women who were blatantly obese could basically walk and still pass. Absolutely ridiculous.

I was in a combat unit. If you fell out, you had drills and your command literally screaming in your face as you ran. We would run with women sometimes, and they would give the pace to a fat chic, who would loudly complain about how they weren't going to run fast, and they would run so slow that even the slowest among us (me lol) was literally walking.

I recently watched a video where a woman with firefighting training was sent to try and knock over a door drilled into the ground so it didn’t open. She failed.

They then brought in like 5+ guys with no fire fighting training and they all knocked over the door.

And she is the one responsible for saving people’s lives.

my Dad's a fireman and has a few chicks on the job at stations where he sometimes picks up overtime. hes worked for 25 years nearly and met only ONE woman who could compete with the men physically before the PT standards were changed. now he says they'll pass women and diversity hires that are straight up a danger to have working that job. the women cannot even raise a fucking wooden ladder. i was in the cadet program, and there was a 13 yr old boy who got that ladder up in seconds.

I absolutely think that the standards should be the same. Having been in the military, I know there are females who can easily pass the male standards. I also know there are females who can train to pass the male standards. The military does a disservice to all of it's members when it lowers the standards for one set of people.

In one unit I was in, we had 4 medics, one for each platoon. The head medic was a male and pretty strong. The other 3 medics were female. Of those 3 only two could I trust to haul my ass away from danger and actually take care of my injuries if needed. The other female was a delicate flower and she was replaced by another male before we deployed.

I also directly served with other females than just those medics, and I certainly couldn't trust many of them to drag me away from danger.

The standards should have been the same from the start.

Frankly I've never heard of or seen a liberal advocate for "inclusive standers" though I wouldn't be too surprised if there was someone that naive, I would be more inclined to believe that this was an attempt by the military to recruit more people (perhaps whilst broadcasting some tradcon "women weak, men strong" BS, but perhaps not).

I think someone posted the other day on this page something about the US draft. The conservatives voted against the plan of now including women into the military draft and y’all were mad about it here. But now y’all are mad that women have physical tests that are less high than men in the military. This page contradicts itself. Women are physically weaker because they have less testosterone. They have 30% less body mass, it’s just normal that they can’t run as fast or lift the same as the average man.
