Kind of tired of studies like this blaming it all on "women have support systems, men don't, pooor men!" I bet at least 50% of the poor outcome is literally men not taking care of themselves if their partners won't do it for them. But it's probably too much MiSaNdREEEE to talk about that. Because a lot of women throw away their friendships and social life when they're stuck with a shitty, controlling man.

Definitely. In chat, I get inundated by men who are lonely, and who cannot adult, and yet somehow also have kids that they want any available female to take care of. BIG no thanks. They're all just so... limited, in every possible way you could think of. Stunted, immature, just not fully human. Manbabies. They bring nothing of value to anyone's life.

When men get sick, everyone knows his wife will take care of him. When they get sick and depressed they just expect the wife to drop everything and look after him, they don't even ask. "Why should I pay a therapist, I have you to talk to!"

My single friend was diagnosed with an auto-immune disorder and literally no-one suggested she get a man to look after her.

Most women with long term illnesses need to break up in order to recover.
