My wife is suggesting mediation.

We agree on 50/50 custody.

I don't see how the assets would go any way other than 50/50 either. I have a 401k and she has a tiny pension value and the home equity would all be 50/50 too

A point of contention might be some investments i started before marriage but added to during marriage.

The thing I'm worried about is marital support. I make about $80K more than her, I am 52 she is 45, so I have less time to recover. I also supported her education.

She would probably walk away with $500K (from my 401K and our house equity), her full pension, and full $55K salary and partial child support for 1.5 years for our 20 year marriage.

I wonder if an attorney would be necessary to avoid Additional spousal support. That part would kill ne.
