Don’t flip the switch….get out. If she’s done this once, she’ll do it again. Do you really want to waste your life on someone who obviously sees you as a second option ? The only sensible option is for you to drive the divorce forward. Don’t rely upon her to do anything, you file and you make the settlement demands. You need to show her that your in charge and that she no longer has any hold over you.

She’s only giving you hope of a reconciliation because she wants the stability of you being at the house while she gets her brains banged out by (very likely) multiple guys.

Just don’t, don’t be her second choice, this happened to me pretty much same story, I foolishly believed she wanted to reconcile and it wasn’t until after we ‘got back together’ that the truth came out.

Lockdown I thought was the best thing ever as we spent so much time again together and for a while it was amazing, arguably the best in our relationship, until it wasn’t. I wish I could go back and tell myself to run and never look back, but I can’t, atlesst I go out with the knowledge that I did everything I could to save our marriage and family. I’ve met some incredible people since, people will naturally come in to your life and are there for a reason, I’ve grown so much as a person and although I’m still incredibly sad it all happened and that I know she regrets things, I would never, ever go back. Things would be great for awhile, sure but could you ever trust each other again, no. Close the book, cherish the memories, love her and remember her as the person you once knew and the time you spent together , don’t get bitter, get better and live your life how you want to. And listens to the sunscreen song every week. You’ve got this!

Yea here man, 3 kids divorced 3 years ago - looking at my ex compared to my girlfriend 10 years younger is always a “dodged a bullet” moment. Watching her spiral through different dudes, more of a “I told ya so” as I don’t want her to be unhappy even though she tortured and betrayed me and our family.

My ex feels like a full-time nanny that I pay to watch my kids while I work during the week. Kids are fine, job wise I’m making more than ever before, yet still working my way out of mountains of debt

It’s always weird trying to come to terms with the new reality and separated family and always asking yourself “was it all worth it” doesn’t matter anymore, all those emotions are behind me, I’m happy, I’m in great shape and grateful for having gone through it in some circumstances I as a young man needed a wake up call and to see that there are people close to you that don’t feel/care about family and friends the way you do, Disney ending, thinking that my ex wife was a forever and there was nothing that we would risk our family for, being a nice guy etc etc are all things that will ultimately end up getting you crushed emotionally. I lm always aware that women are a “for now” she loves me “for now” she wants to be with me forever “for now” all that really matters is me and my three boys - they are the only certain bet to be with me till the end, so if I have them, a roof over my head, decent job - I’m good and content. Everything else I lost is just stuff that may or may not be replaced. Life is good now

Yes the flip did switch for her. It went from up = new AP and exciting life awaits me. To down = I'll settle for and take this guy; at least until I find something better.

Understand the only reason she is acting this way is because her primary plan (which was NOT you) didn't work out. She's the same lying, cheating and manipulating person as before.

She could have been honest and honorable. Said she wanted to end things and then afterwards got into a new relationship. But she did the typical monkey branch, found the new guy first, lied about it, manipulated you, keep you as the back up. And when it didn't work out the way she wanted, is trying to manipulate you into keeping her.

She doesn't want you. She had you. What she wants is security. The AP was suppose to be that, he failed. So now it's back to you. Maybe she's learned that there aren't other men out there that are willing to provide for her, so she has to stick it out with what she's got.

If your cool with that, give it a try. But go in with eyes wide open, she hasn't changed.

You have honored your vows, but clearly, she doesn't feel the same way. I remember being in this same situation as you, using the "hope" strategy that she would wake up from her fog and come running back to me. So I'll give it to you straight up; SHE DUMPED YOU, AND RAN WITY ANOTHER MAN. Who knows what did they did together behind closed doors. Are you actually ok with this? Brother, you shouldn't. Best thing I did, as painful as it was, is cut her loose. Start rebuilding your life without her. If you take her back, she will do this to you again because she doesn't respect you. Live with dignity instead.

My wife did a one eighty as soon as I presented her with a divorce settlement. We stayed together, and it's been three years. I have a fed up look now, and she knows how to read it.

That being said I in no way suffered the level of disrespect you have. The only reason I had the strength to serve her was I always choose me. One day you will choose yourself, and on that day you will hate yourself for allowing her to treat you like she has.
