No, women do not "like rapists" or "reward rapists with sex."

Let's take the "rapists" out of the analogy and try to steelman /u/tradcatholic69's argument. The argument is basically that an air of danger (so to speak) is seen as somewhat attractive by most women... but the men who have this "air of danger" are in fact more likely to be dangerous to the woman as well. That IS a defensible argument.

More broadly, I think what TradCath69 (you mean not 69ing?) is trying to point out is that some signals of antisocial behavior are considered sexually attractive, and that whilst prosocial behavior is better it doesn't get sexually rewarded (at least not when its displayed by sexually unattractive men).

And, I think it should be self-evident here, a society needs to provide some sort of incentive (not necessarily sexual) to act prosocially, otherwise people will not act prosocially.

Women are attracted to guys who are “confident”, but are poor judges of actual confidence.

Guys who are more disagreeable (in terms of psychology big 5) are seen as more “confident”. They are more willing to make others uncomfortable to achieve their own wants and desires. These disagreeable men are more likely to be rapists.

This doesn’t mean all disagreeable people are bad or rapists, just that almost all people with antisocial behaviors are disagreeable.

So women don’t reward rape (of themselves or others) with sex, they’re just more attracted to traits that have a correlation with these bad behaviors.

Said the other way: women might get the ick from a guy who won’t send back food that is prepared wrong because he doesn’t want to make a scene. That same meek guy is also less likely to be a rapist.

I think he means that many women are attracted to the asshole, arrogant, “alpha male” personalities and charm that rapists tend to have. (Before knowing they’re a rapist.)

I agree with some of it. I dont think being a rapist or any type of criminal is a ideal or most saught after but it is less of a hindrance to a guys sexual success than other traits like ugliness or being really meek/timid.

This is not a troll, he's talking about (for example, and this is an assumption on my part) the stories where women line up to fuck prison convicts, some of them doing time for actual rape. I would explain this with a natural environment that fostered the development of game, for better or worse. Also, it was likely a tough environment that drew out attractive masculine traits. There are many such cases where women opt to be drawn into the adventurous scary world of the bad boy, I don't see how this is even all that controversial by now.

So the statement in verbatim is obviously false.

But he isn't trolling , it's a poorly word chosen reference to the correlation between high value men (athletes / singers) and domestic violence or sexual violence charges. Examples being Chris Brown, Chris Wu (China) , etc.

Yet that's also false. Women are not seeking out men who abuse others and rewarding them. These women seek out these attractive men, but for the purposes of attraction. Then, those men will unfortunately abuse or inflict violence on a smaller number of those women.

First off, there's many branches of RP just like there's many branches of feminism.

The guy is likely a troll or sock puppet account but, assuming he's serious, obviously rape has nothing to do with a man's desirability and should be widely condemned.

That said, there is some truth to the fact that many women aren't these impeccable judges of character like many think they are. There's a lot of young women, including educated ones, who have trash tastes in men or give men who are physically desirable a lot more passes than they'll give an average Joe.

Obviously, there's many young women who aren't like this either but it goes to show how the whole "your toxicity is keeping you from getting a woman" is a flawed concept given how many toxic women there are out there.

I definitely don't cosign the part about women liking rapists and rewarding them with sex. That's nonsense.

But I think there's some truth to his basic point. If you imagine a typical frat bro type that assaults women because he pushes past consent, he's probably having plenty of consensual sex too. Probably more consensual sex than the average guy, I would say.
