In other online forums and private discussions, a lot of guys argue that dating has become significantly harder since 2017. Some talk of a steep decrease in male-female interactions in clubs, or women not going to clubs anymore at all. Others complain about women’s increasing standards, the difficulty of getting casual sex etc. As far as my memory goes, it was also round that time that things like TRP or bl*ckpill started to prevail.

This might sound anecdotal but it corresponds quite well with my personal experience. As much a shut-in and introverted guy I used to be it was never that hard to just find a girlfriend back in 2012-16. Most of the time all that was needed was just some nice words and chemistry. And I didn’t even bother taking care of my physical appearance. From 2017 and on it seems like you have to be flawless in every single aspect to even stand in the playground, and even then you’re very likely to be dismissed or ghosted without reason. On my social media most women seem to show zero interest in dating. Most just contend with showing their bodies or photos with female friends.

I was never a club goer but in 2019, after loads of self improvements, I tried my luck once, accompanied by a female friend that I was not attracted to. The event theme was Valentine’s so you’d imagine that there would be a lot of casual flirting and hookup. Hell no. Most women there didn’t even bother making eye contact with stranger guys, no matter how attractive these men were. They were just happy dancing with their female friends.

This is not an inc*l rant or anything since I’ve become quite disincentivized from dating for a while myself. I’m just curious. The year of 2017 was so mysterious in that dating has become considerably harder since then. I wonder what reasons could there be behind that.
