Men want Women. Women want Men. But do we need each other?

I've often heard "A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle." or "Strong, independent woman who doesn't need a man". Men's counteraction to that point is that we're needed because men do the most laborious and dangerous jobs that keep our society spinning. And a counterpoint to that is "if all men in the world disappear today, women could just train themselves to do the jobs". So I wonder do we really NEED each other.

I'm a man (28) my last relationship was when I was 20 (not a serious one) and at this point I don't have any desire for relationships or even marriage. I don't think I have a need for a woman in my life. I honestly don't think that any should have to need anyone (specifically in order to function in the world or for happiness). I can take care of myself just fine, so I don't see where a woman would fit in.

Outside of reproduction, I don't think men and women need each other for anything. And if this Ectolife facility bears fruit at some point, one day we might not need each other for even that. You could say emotional connection but men can get that from men, women can get that from women. You could say sex but sex isn't a necessity for anyone. Romance? Love? I guess but are those needs? When I think of WANT I think of a luxury, something I like but can live without. When I think of NEED, it's something I can't live without.
