This has been my experience as well, especially in the Balkans. I've seen guys who are out of shape with uneven hairlines and crooked teeth walking hand and hand with pretty women daily. Also, these guys are in no way rich, they work regular jobs.

When I lived in Asia, I realized that while many Asian women went for foreigners, these were the women that were effectively priced out of the local market. The top women in country, went for their own race of guys. The foreigners were dating women that were too fat, too dark, too tall, too socially awkward to get their own native alpha. Which begs the question, wouldn’t these foreigners do well with “less attractive” women in their home countries? Can we be sure you are not getting the same women you’d get in the west?

This is the key. Ever been to Thailand? Hell I’m neither tall, nor conventionally handsome, and I’ve never really struggled in ‘The West.’

Location’s important, but not as important as how you present yourself. Carriage. Social skill. I might be wrong but I’d guess you similarly speak at least two languages. That’s a huge advantage. So whilst where you bring your game matters, what matters more; is if you have any ‘game’ in the first place.

I have to disagree a bit here because several assumptions need to be satisfied.

1) Language barriers. Yes, people can to an extent understand English but it gets harder and harder as you go into more remote villages which is where you set the scene for OP. Realistically a Western European expat would be hanging around Zagreb, which I doubt is trivial to the extent. Remote village would be.

2) Cultural barriers: Thwre are so many traditions that a foreigner would have trouble adapting to and cultural norms that matter in smaller villages. You know them since you are Croatian, while a foreigner expat would not.

3) Financial barriers. Croatian job market is relatively poor and the pay is not good. You could argue that the pay evens out the COL, but it’s still not helpful for guys who want to travel back and forth to their home country

Prostitution is legal in many of those places so men probably don't bother...I don't worry about my haircut or clothes not trying to impress anyone and when your paying for it she doesn't care just take a shower and brush your teeth.
