From reading articles online as well as talking to people, I believe this is the case.

I think men struggle to date women do so because of what 'goods' each gender are attracted to. Men are primarily attracted to appearance for evolutionary reasons and can get sexually aroused by women easily. On the other hand, women are more concerned about social status (friendship) and a job. Even though women care do lust over hot guys, the vast majority would not get so aroused as to agree to enter a relationship primarily on that basis compared to men.

This explains why young men have it hard. Women their age go for status so the only guys that are well put together financially are usually in their mid/late 20s and upwards. I don't actually believe men age like fine wine necessarily but they have more resources to attract women and they become more attractive.

But so long as a woman isn't obese, is white, isn't a single mother, severely mental ill guys would be willing to fuck her along with enter a relationship. She doesn't need to be stunning, doesn't need to have a good education and she'll still be getting attention. It will definitely wane as she get's into her 40s but that's very different from having no attention at all as middle aged men encounter with no job/no social circle.
