If a feminist is being rude to you, show them this argument

Patriarchy is a social system in which men hold primary power and predominate in roles of political leadership, moral authority, social privilege and control of property.

This definition is from Wikipedia. This is key to feminist theory. The thought of patriarchy. If you lived in the 1800's, you lived in a patriarchy. Hell, you can say the 1950's was a patriarchy. But today in Western Society, that would be false.

First here are some disadvantages that men have :

  • Men are 40% of the abuse victims and no one takes them seriously.
  • Men aren't treated fairly when it comes to child custody.
  • Men aren't treated fairly when it comes to child support payments
  • Men aren't treated fairly when it comes to reproductive rights
  • Female genital mutilation is illegal in the US but it's normal for males(Don't say it's a piece of skin. So is your eyelid)
  • Women are given less prison time statistically from equivalent crimes.
  • Men have to sign up for the Selective Service

I'm pointing these out for my argument. When I talk to women about patriarchy, they tell me most of the time "It is a system used to oppress women". Here my question : If a patriarchy exists, why would it disadvantage men?

Patriarchy doesn't exist and here's why :

If men were in control, why is more money spilled into women's cancer research than men's cancer research? If we were in charge, we would care more about men. The patriarchy would say : "F*ck that women's cancer shit, we have our own problems!"

If men were in control, why don't we send women to fight wars and kill people that have personally never wronged them?

If men were in control, why wouldn't we give them harsher sentences for equivalent crimes?

If men were in control, why does society look the other way when a woman beats a man, but go ape-shit when a man beats a woman?

If men were in control, why would we create a system to our disadvantage?

The reason men, including myself, say a patriarchy doesn't exist is because we don't see women as inferior. We don't sit around all day and hatch plans to subjugate women.
