Is there a good response to when another guy tries to shame you by saying, ''Lol, are you one of those redpiller guys?'' or "Ha I'm guessing you're into the redpill?"

One question. What is up with Britain and all the misandry?

Many of the most misandristic smear campaign like #everydaysexismproject, who officially states that they exclude males, both men and boys, from speaking out about their experiences as victims of sexism and gender based discrimination, originated in the UK.

Men are getting fines just for looking at a unfamiliar woman in the tube.

Only men can get convicted for rape.

Reading what the guardian is writing about the Depp vs Heard trial is extremely misleading. Like Völkischer Beobachter level of propaganda, just with men instead of Jews.

And now this, plus a lot more that I just can’t remember right away?

I always thought that we over here in Scandinavia was the feminist version of Saudi Arabia but apparently it was the UK all along.

[–]frasoftw 137 points138 points139 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Don't forget that time the UK police decided to just not hand over evidence that the men that were being charged with rape were innocent.

His trial was abandoned after police were eventually ordered to hand over phone records that should have been provided earlier, including one in which the complainant told a friend: “It wasn’t against my will or anything.”

But I wouldn't worry, now there is a campaign to make it so police can't get that exculpatory evidence in the first place!

[–][deleted] 30 points31 points32 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Damn that’s just fuck up.

I'm kinda glad they left the EU at this point. They can rot.

[–]Moody0926 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm hoping to leave this shithole soon they call me a terrorist anyway so who cares.

[–]SaltyFloridaMan 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I was going to say I'm glad I'm in America, but we got people who don't know their own sex over here

[–]ramot1 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Who else would be allowed to investigate things and find evidence? The victim? The accused? Investigation is the police and detectives jobs.

Men are getting fines just for looking at a unfamiliar woman in the tube.

I saw one of those posters on the tube myself just the other day, I took a picture as it irritated me sufficiently to consider posting an image here for discussion. I did also consider designing a rebuttal poster (not for posting in public, but to post here, just to cool my piss), but I didn't have faith in myself to follow through with the design I started with (Edit: conceptual description moved to the end of the post for tl;dr).

But there are numerous reasons why that tube poster is an absolutely absurd thing to suggest, to publicise, and to effectively taint the public's opinion with. (Edit: picture of the staring poster, not my photo, but the same poster)

There were others too, some in the stations talking about how male violence against women begins with words. I missed the opportunity to take a picture of that one (Edit: copy of it here), and didn't see another the same. It's not untrue that violence often starts with words, but why so biased? What about women who get shouty and stabby, like the woman in the OP?

I too was disappointed and frankly a bit pissed off that such inflammatory messaging is officially sanctioned for display in busy public places. Yeah, I get it, put up posters about pickpockets, drunks, whatever - actual criminal acts you might want to be aware of and avoid - but fuck, man, I'm autistic, I already have a hard enough time on the tube (or any other public transport) trying desperately to point my head in whatever awkward angle means I don't feel like I might be accused, or thought of, as staring.

=-=-=-=

Conceptually what I wanted to do was have a picture of an attractive young woman on one side, with text that describes her everyday behaviours, likes/dislikes, job, that sort of thing. Then I'd have a man on the other side, describing what he's thinking as he's looking at her on the tube, and it would be about how he feels like a massive failure, a monster, a useless waste of space, that he has a longing to show a woman that beautiful all of the love he has, but she doesn't know he exists, and now might believe he's a criminal for having caught a glance of her, in that one moment, during their respective journeys. The text would sort of fade/blend in the middle, in whatever way I thought looked best, such that it would describe them both knowing nothing about each other, but show how what he's thinking is perfectly innocent and perhaps introspective - not lust, violence, and misogyny. In the end it didn't come out looking how I wanted and I wasn't sure it was going to have the message I wanted to send.

Wtf is "staring of a sexual nature"

[–]bottleblank 20 points21 points22 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Damned if I know. I did a quick search after posting that comment, it seems many women believe they know one when they see one, which to me sounds like code for "if I want to complain that you're leering at me sexually, you have no way to prove that you weren't, so what I say goes".

Nobody likes being stared at, I get that, especially in an enclosed space like a tube train, but giving everybody the idea that looking at somebody, or even being accused of looking at somebody, is some kind of crime (when performed by a man)... that's absolutely ridiculous.

Especially since part of flirting is eye contact. Not that I'm trying to suggest that you should go on a train and start staring at people to try and hook up with them. But a problem many men (like myself) have, due to certain social disabilities, is not necessarily having a handle on body language - either sending it or receiving it - so flirting doesn't register (you miss cues) and sometimes people will interpret you as staring, or being creepy, or "sexually staring" (I suppose) even when you weren't or didn't intend to be.

This is a bit of a tangent, I realise, but I don't understand how I, as an autistic person, am supposed to put together "if you stare then you're sexually harassing people", "but eye contact is part of flirting", "she was probably just smiling hello out of politeness", and "when you try to smile hello out of politeness it's probably creepy" into any sort of consistent ruleset.

Which is to very long-windedly and roundabout say that for those who are already considered "creepy" for reasons they can't necessarily be blamed for, nor control very well, this is basically breaking the remaining kneecap. "Make eye contact, people think it's weird when you don't, it's an important part of communication" -> "Don't look/stare, it's rude, and probably sexual harassment". What the hell, people?

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

/s. It’s simple! It’s creepy staring when she finds the man doing it unattractive but fun and flirty when a hawt guy does the same thing!

[–]hedic 14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A blank check.

[–]Sintar07 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It means 'glancing at a feminist,' especially if you're not attractive.

People naturally glance around unless they're expressly reading or something. Feminists have sex and gender issues on their minds 24/7. Random man glances at a feminist, they interpret it as sexual.

[–]Huffers1010 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Inevitably, it'll be interpreted as anything some woman thinks it is.

The accused man's experience of this will be having a perfectly normal day with nothing out of the ordinary in it, and then months later the police will turn up on his doorstep and arrest him for staring at someone he has, to his knowledge, never met in his life. It's the Mark Pearson situation all over again. Prove you didn't glance at one of the tens of thousands of people you've passed on the tube in the last few months. Honestly, you don't even have to have looked at her. How can you possibly prove you didn't?

An assumption 🫠

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 24 points25 points26 points 4 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

Copy of one of the linked posters:

Have a word with yourself, then your mates. Male violence against women & girls starts with words. If you see it happening, say something. Search london.gov.uk/have-a-word

This poster is bizarre if you take it literally. If I see a man talking, I should call the cops apparently? Seems like there should be a bit more context there.

following the link, the page it takes you to says this:

We all have a responsibility to raise our voices to help keep women and girls safe.

Yeah. Um. No. I don't know what it's like in the UK, but most places in the US it's a bad idea. Too much risk of things escalating, then getting sued, arrested, fined, imprisoned, fired, injured, or even dead. States like NY have a requirement to try to flee before defending yourself or doing anything that could escalate the situation. We don't trust people to defend themselves or intervene (as proven by the legal system) so why are they trying to encourage people to do things tht do the opposite? Seems like a potentially curious criminal defense strategy - a sign sponsored by the gov told me to do it. Doesn't seem like it would hold up. At all.

If it looks ugly, all you can do is record it on your phone for evidence if you can do it safely. If it's bad enough to call the cops, call the cops. Asking or expecting anyone to do more than that is just nonsensical with the way US laws are.

[–]bottleblank 15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I don't know what it's like in the UK, but most places in the US it's a bad idea.

My gut feeling is that some of the reasons you cite for it being dangerous in the US would probably apply less, or not at all, over here in the UK. Lawsuits, for example, that's probably not as likely to happen, unless you're directly arrested for a criminal act by the police.

But for me, as somebody who has little physical presence, is not very fit, is not trained in any kind of fighting or negotiation technique, and who (as a man) is very much more likely to be seriously hurt or killed for stepping up, that ain't me, sorry.

I don't want to see anybody hurt, abused, or especially killed, of course I don't, but the chances are pretty solid that if I step in then I'm going to end up being the victim, and I'm probably less likely to get help than the hypothetical woman being abused is.

If it came to it, yeah, I'd take a video or something on my phone and if necessary call the police, who I would be happy to give the video to if necessary. But I'm not the guy you want trying to clumsily wade into an argument, not unless you want it to get worse.

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

I read a bit more (but not all) of the site that that poster mentions. If I were with my son or daughter and he or she said/did stuff given in the examples, of course I would speak up and correct them. Close friends? Sure. It seems very very unlikely I would have a close friendship with any guys that would do that kind of stuff. Only if they accidently said something not realizing how it could be interpreted. That seems pretty easy to speak up about. Guys I don't know very well? Ehhh that is getting really questionable. Most likely I'd find myself on the receiving end of worse behavior. Better off to just find new friends. Strangers? Absolutely not.

I'm all for doing the right thing and standing up for what I believe in even if it's hard. If they actually want people to intervene with strangers, they have to change the laws to give people the benefit of the doubt. Here we have what are known as "good Samaritan" laws for example that basically give you legal immunity if you try to help someone injured. We had too many successful lawsuits where the injured person was successfull suing people who tried to help them. So people stopped trying to help. [shocked Pikachu face]. /eyeroll. Don't be a surprised if you get what you ask for. Luckily, people spoke up for those people getting sued and got laws changed. Nothing like that has happened yet for people trying to intervene for verbal abuse though. I'm not sure how you could since verbal abuses is so nebulous it's hard to define. It's much easier to define when someone is unconscious that they default to consenting to medical treatment.

I'm not imposing either. Average height. After getting down to the medically healthy range, I feel tiny compared to so many overweight or obese guys that are so common here. I did built up my strength quite a bit, but you couldn't really tell by looking at me since I trained for strength and not bulk.

[–]bottleblank 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, I'd go with your assessment there. Friends and family, sure, I might have some kind of sway, and as you said if they were like that I wouldn't want to be near them anyway. Strangers are a total crap shoot, who knows what they might have hidden about their person? I'm just as much a victim of a knife as any woman is, if I were to find myself in that unfortunate position.

[–]PrimeWolf88[🍰] 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The message it seems is that women are incompetent children and not responsible for their actions. Nor are they expected to act like adults. Men should stay away from them because they can't control themselves or their emotions and the courts and legal system already back that position.

[–]joyhammerpants 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I remember when we talked about china and it's liability laws 10-15 years ago and we all laughed, now it's the same here. No one wants to be a hero.

Your artistic vision sounds beautiful, to say it mildly. Wish I know any other artistic people I could recommend you too, so that they could help you carry through with it.

A visual short story/short comic would be a perfect way to illustrate our experience with the fear of being suspected of staring/creeping at strangers when in reality our mind aren’t in a dirty place at all.

I’m not much of an visual artist my self, but sometimes I like to make jokes for my self, like writing a stand up routine in my head just for me. I actually have one about the violence against women begins with words thing.

Nevertheless I really hope you one day can realize your artistic vision. If you do pls give me a heads up about it!

[–]Huffers1010 17 points18 points19 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I think I'd probably go with this:

A conventionally attractive young woman is standing on the tube. We hear her inner monologue as she obsessively enumerates all of the terrible things she assumes the guy opposite is thinking - he's objectifying her, he's planning to attack her, he's a terrible human. It's not fair - she should be able to wear this outfit without people staring! She's going to post on facebook about this. She knows her friends will all agree with her and the guy deserves all the hate he'll get.

Then we hear his inner monologue as he stares vaguely into space, possibly generally in the direction of the woman. "Wonder what we'll have for dinner. Maybe I'll get takeout. The wife and kids love that. Man, I need new shoes, these ones are getting really uncomfortable. Must remember to respond to Susie's email. Nearly my stop now. Eesh, why is that woman staring at me?"

[–]Ferbuggity 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well said.

[–]SpookeyClown 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

hahahahaha awesome post.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That would be beautiful!

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Violence against women may start with words, but considering that there's been several instances of men getting attacked because of something a woman DREAMED, I feel like they can shove their sexist bullshit up their asses.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, maybe it does starts with words, but it is sure not the words they’re talking about like quick quirky jokes and such.

My that’s what she said jokes are not funny enough to kill a women, at least not from laugher.

[–]bottleblank 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Thanks for the kind words :)

If I do manage to come up with something I'm happy with, along those lines, I'll definitely post them here. I've wanted to contribute something along the lines of the infographic pamphlets that TheTinMen and similar release, but I'm not that confident in my skills. I've become pretty comfortable with writing about these things, but I just don't think my artistic "talent" is strong enough to carry that through into something visual, whilst still retaining the message I want to convey, and without looking cheap/tacky.

But I think it's just as valid to put mens' thoughts across in that way as it is to put posters up in public transport stations suggesting that men are probably bastards.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

If it is your drawings you are referring to as your artistic talent, then remember that drawing is a craft, it’s a set of… how to formulate it correctly in English…. a set of “tactics” you learn, just like a carpenter or as a mathematician who learns formulas and equations in order to master his field of expertise.

[–]bottleblank 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I was thinking more digital composition, as that's something I have some amount of experience with, I haven't considered myself capable of drawing pictures from scratch since my age was a single digit!

You're right, though, it does take time, practice, building of skills...

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yea I just look up TheTinMan on instagram. I think I understand what you mean now. Somehow I was confusing it with Titmouse and Pinched. Guess it must have been the subway theme that got me to confuse the two.

[–]bottleblank 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Had a quick crack at it - I'm not super happy with it, but I hope it at least gets the general idea across: Linky

(Also paging u/Huffers1010 from the comment below)

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That’s some great work!

[–]bottleblank 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thanks, heh. I was a lot more happy with the concept than the execution, I don't have the setup I used to have (which, despite my skill level, still made it a bit easier to work on stuff), but maybe it'll give someone some inspiration to make a better one :)

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

But try remove the DONT JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS. I think it may work better if the message is more subtly.

[–]bottleblank 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah, I'd have to admit I'm not a massive fan of that part either, but I thought it was perhaps a little... unfinished? Overly subtle, perhaps?

Here's a version without that, I think you're right, it does look better that way.

Think I could've done a lot of things about it better, but eh, concept design, and it's rapidly approaching midnight!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It was for me too. If you’re not happy with it yet, just try to mix around it, try out different things and am confident that it will eventually hit right for you. The important thing is that you keep doing what you enjoy, more then the end result Itself.

[–]digos_ 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women are the most abusive with words.

[–]biccat 89 points90 points91 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Because Britain has a major (and recent) problem with men assaulting women and girls.

Targeting the people that actually commit these offenses is not allowed.

So they pick on men who don’t submit enough.

[–][deleted] 77 points78 points79 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Okay that’s interesting. Who are the people… ohh…. Yearh I understand.

Still a fucking weird choice of strategy to go with alienating a entire sex, instead of just addressing the misogyny of ISIS and Taliban supporters inside the UK. Bet most normal well integrated muslims in the UK hates the Islamists just as much if not more then the rest of the UK’s population does.

[–]biccat 33 points34 points35 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Still a fucking weird choice of strategy to go with alienating a entire sex

The men being oppressed don't fight back.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Only cowers attack those too weak to fight back.

Hopefully it will eventually lead to a backlash.

[–]Reasonable_cancelCA 24 points25 points26 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's insane. Weak spineless politicians too scared to really do anything about it. So typical. Deport the Muslim extremists and chemically castrate rapists... It's only fair....

[–]Billy-Batdorf 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Does it really? The rate of violent crime against women in the UK was 1.4% in 2019. Rape convictions fell to a historic low in 2019. If you believe in feminist propaganda just to be racist you're still just a feminist.

[–]fuck_ya_bud 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And what about all those who avoided prosecution like this article? What about all the cases the uk banned people from even speaking about? What rape gangs? Nothing to see here!

[–]Potato-with-guns[🍰] 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Remember: spreading of propaganda is one of the stages of genocide and as is action against a perceived group, which is what Britain is doing.

[–]kmikek 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Things have changed since 1991, but in the state of Kansas, the age of consent for a male was 12 years old. -Hermesmann v. Seyer. The same wasn't true for girls. This is one of the more screwed up court cases, and like I said things changed for the better since then.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I had great admiration for the British culture and that’s why I decided to study and live there for four years but living the misandry and just unfair laws against men made me leave.

[–]hai85rul 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Its not just Britain..its global now. Look at Singapore where I come from, the laws against men are totally unbelievable.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. Britain had a booming economy, and needed a lot of skilled immigrants to meet the demands to keep the upturn going. At least up until Brexit. I don’t know if it’s still the case here post Brexit. But these laws are counterproductive when you want to attract well educated men (and women). Nobody likes to immigrate to a country that discriminate against you on something so personal as one’s gender, ethnicity etc.
and it’s not just Britain, but also nations with close historical, economic and cultural ties to Britain too. Like Australia and India.

It’s really confusing because British culture has historically speaking mostly been a lighthouse of freedom and liberalism.
Two of the most important historical and cultural parts of my own background as a Dane is closely tied to British culture. Both the danish Grundtvigian Højskole culture and the western jutlandian andelsbevægelse was influenced by respectable, culture of freedom of speech and its educational nature around Cambridge university, and the British working class’ self help and cooperative movements.

I know British culture has never been perfect, and has always had problems with discrimination based in academic racism, (male)homosexuality and economic and cultural class divisions, but nevertheless it still makes me sad to see the decline of all the positive aspects of the culture as it slide into bigotry, ignorance and authoritarian ideology.

[–]Yowilkat 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Its basically all of europe (though some countries are worse thanothers) . Look into spain and see what i mean

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah Spain is fucked too, but they’re fucked on so many other levels also. More young people are leaving the country, despite the awesome weather.

Alisha Oakley, 23, walked free from court after a judge ruled that she was suffering from a psychotic episode when she knifed Reece Tyler in the back of the head.

In a statement to the court, Mr Tyler told how the attack has affected his life.

He said: 'All that happened is that I rejected her and [I worry] if I reject another girl I could be stabbed.

Can't wait for "MenToo" to really shatter the normies sexist sense of right and wrong. This guy is now fucked up and his abuser is wondering free, ready to have another "psychotic episode".

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I read that and thought "Ah, but Mr. Tyler, this is not a bug in the feminist system - it is a feature! Men aren't meant to be able to reject women in this society, and they shouldn't even want to! If a woman retaliates against you for rejection it is actually your well deserved punishment. Shame on you. /s".

Needless to say it shouldn't be that way, but it sadly is.

[–]Antanarau 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

>Even 1 person labeling the person an incel would shock me tbh,
Just visit any popular sub, be it AskReddit or anything similar, find a question even remotedly about females, and dare say anything that doesn't fit The Party Approved Narrative tm
Think women are too toxic while dating, often expecting men to be just "a free dinner" ? - Incel
Think that gender gap doesn't exist? (Though ,to be fair, the discussion around it died out when everybody and their dog realised that it exists, but only ever in the other direction (= women get paid same as men for generally less amount of job. People already posted stuff like this on this sub countless times, just lurk around) - Incel!
Think that women can also be perperators of abuse , rape and any other crime in general? - You guessed it, you are an incel

Sure, if you talk with people who actually know what they're talking about and are more-less intelligent, you won't find them spitting "incel" all around. But internet is not about smart people. "Incel" is just another "nazi", having the meaning of "anyone I don't like/disagree with"

[–]sourneck1 points 4 years ago [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

I agree with some of what you said but I have been around and never seen anyone with views this extreme. We're talking about a guy who almost got murdered because he rejected one girl and slept with another, and may now fear women because of it. I maintain that no one would ever call this guy an incel.

[–]Antanarau 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

" I mean, it would be pretty stupid for people to believe that earth is flat in 2022"

Again, those people value politics over anything else. They don't see a tragedy, they see something that doesn't fit the narrative and must be quickly concealead/masked/ spun in a way that fits the narrative.
Its a theme you constanlty see with such people
Woman did something bad to a man - must be justified.
They don't care that the man was almost murdered , or his trauma, or whatever. They see that a woman did something bad to a man, so now they grasp at any straw to make it seem justified/ not that bad/ make man the victim etc. Just look at recent Heard-Depp trials, especially when they just begun. Its nothing really new

Again, if its real life, then sure, you might not find anyone, but I 'll repeat myself again : internet is not about smart people

21 years ago I was attacked by 2 men in a bar. I got one of them in the face with my glass and at that point the other stopped fighting. I ran off.

Police got me and whilst they didn't believe the story of the 2 guys that I just waltzed over and hit one, they still charged me with section 20 wounding WITHOUT intent. The copper was decent and made it look like I reacted instinctively and struck out not realising. I got 12 months and my engineering apprenticeship was gone. I had a year left on that.

It makes me angry that I defended myself from 2 dickhead bullies and it affected my whole future yet this twat can just walk away scott free in a deliberate attack.

Feminists: "Men are afraid a woman might say no, Women are afraid a man might kill her if she says No"

Look what has happened now that Feminists have pushed to make even approaching a woman uninvited or even LOOKING at her the equivalent of rape.
Men are increasingly not making the first move and now its falling on women to approach men.

And lo and behold as many women ALSO can not handle rejection and turn to violence.
The difference here is though, when a woman gets violent she rarely faces the same consequences a man would.

Absolutely sickening..

[–]bottleblank 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm aware that this sentiment could be satirical (or indeed it could be real, of course I don't know you, but I'm not judging).

As somebody with limited experience, questionable social skills, poor physical conditioning, and a slightly higher chance of becoming bewildered, confused, bamboozled, or manipulated due to developmental and mental health issues... well, I can legitimately claim to have some - justified, in my opinion - concern that I might be abused by a potential female partner.

Do I think it's definitely going to happen? Not nearly to that extreme, no. If I'm lucky it might never happen. But do I think it's possible, and quite some distance away from unlikely? Yes, actually. Yes I do.

There are quite a lot of reasons I'm not actively in the dating game, but I'd be lying if I said some measure of fear for being taken advantage of or harmed in some way wasn't one of them. It's obviously a very real threat, even if it's not that likely, at least to that level of extreme harm.

So to all the women who say that men don't have to worry, you're wrong. I'm a man, I feel I have to worry, because of women like the one in this news story, and the many others who have shown violent, manipulative, callous behaviour towards male victims. I don't go around saying all women are scum, of course, because that would be grossly unreasonable and horribly disrespectful to the millions and millions of women who don't do that. But before making any claims of exclusivity to fear of damaging, coercive, or violent behaviour from the opposite sex, spare a thought for those of us who experience the same in the other direction.

[–]Otherwise_Drink5618 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

This is a very complex matter. Since I was a kid my parents used to tell me things like, "find a girl who loves you and start a family"... I tried for a while but I found out that many women want to use men for their own benefit, specially when they want to get attention, I was victim from one of those fatherless girls(im saying it almost literally, her parents were getting divorced in that moment) and now it's very hard for me to rely on women(even more if someone in internet says to be a woman "no one in the internet is a woman until the opposite is proven").

I also have some degree of autism so I feel like I have no chance to get a good outcome from talking to a woman from my same age and it's very hard for me to know if they want to use me as some sort of emotional toy...guess I'll have no bitch*s for a long time, at this point I kinda accepted my fate,I hope u all have better luck with females.

[–]matrixislife 38 points39 points40 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There's definitely a ton of problems with this. This made me wonder wth..

There was no compensation for the victim as she has no way to pay - although she does have a £140 surcharge bill.

So the court can allocate £140 for it's own fund but nothing for the actual victim. Says it all really.

[–]rabel111 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There is a systematic movement in western courts to treat men and women differently regardless of the severity of the crimes they have committed. If the courts are going to treat men as guilty until proven innocent, and treat women as not guilty even when the evidence (including confessions) is overwhelming, if the the courts are refusing to protect men from the violence of women while persecuting men for violence for mearly looking at a woman, then the courts are no longer chambers of justice, but are instead, instruments of oppression and persecution.

When the state treats its citizens as the enemy, then the state is the enemy.

[+]MaxIsJoe -23 points-22 points-21 points 4 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

Encouraging MGTOW is harmful to men because it only makes them ignore and avoid the issues men face everyday in society and it never fixes them. Instead of encouraging childish ideas that cause more harm than good you should instead go out and (peacefully) demand for a solution and for society to change it’s wrong ways. If you don’t try to fix your own issues and refuse to stand up to the society that is wronging you; you will never get anything done and everything is going to stay the same forever.

Edit : How would have MGTOW prevent this man from getting stabbed in the head and not getting justice? Answer, it wouldn’t.

I'll be blunt, If you don't want to stand your ground and demand change then you absolutely deserve 100% of whats coming for you. However, Don't encourage other people to follow your coward ways and let them try changing society for the better for everyone.

Nothing will get changed if no one tries anything.

[–]TheSilverShade 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

It's exactly what mgtow is: to stand for yourself and do what you want. It's certainly less harmful than getting stabbed in the head don't you think ?

[–]MaxIsJoe -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

So, let me get this straight; you want more men to be lonely and miserable like you and spout incel nonsense because a few bad women abuse privileges that society gave for them that you refuse to try and dismantle because "no one is going to change".

You also claim that MGTOW is about standing up for yourself when the whole idea of MGTOW is to avoid other women and society... But society can still wrong you even if you did absolutely nothing wrong and haven't even interacted with anyone to start with.... So.. Where is the fix? Answer, there isn't.

You also claim that MGTOW is about doing what you want; but how are you doing what you want when you're telling others they should not be allowed to interact with women and society or try to defend their rights and other men? Do you not notice the faults of that logic?

I urge you to take a step back and think for 5 seconds about how MGTOW as a concept is as stupid as the "independent woman" mindset that society tried enforcing on women for a while and look at how much that damaged the social and happiness aspect of women who are entering their 30s now. There is data to prove it and you could easily look up multiple reports and essays that talk about how much this has effected women negatively in their social lives. MGTOW will do the same and make men more miserable because you simply refuse to communicate and are repeating the same mistakes that society did.

[–]TheSilverShade 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

you want more men to be lonely and miserable like you and spout incel nonsense

Your first mistake here is assuming mgtow men are lonely and miserable. Plus the word "incel" means nothing now since people like you overuse it so much for anybody you disagree with.

You also claim that MGTOW is about standing up for yourself when the whole idea of MGTOW is to avoid other women and society... But society can still wrong you

I see nothing wrong with that and I agree there's no fix. So why care about it? Care about your own life.

how are you doing what you want when you're telling others they should not be allowed to interact with women and society or try to defend their rights and other men?

Perhaps giving fellow men advice is what I want to do. Giving advice and insight that's it. I don't tell them what they should do. So I'm still doing what I want.

the "independent woman" mindset that society tried enforcing on women for a while and look at how much that damaged the social and happiness aspect of women who are entering their 30s now. True but it ain't the same thing for mgtow cause most of the time we don't brag about be not needing women. We can already live alone by ourselves doing our own stuff. Last time I checked independent women don't have alimony, child support, false accusations and other problems most men face so there's that.

[–]MaxIsJoe 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Your first mistake here is assuming mgtow men are lonely and miserable.
Plus the word "incel" means nothing now since people like you overuse it
so much for anybody you disagree with.

Your whole movement is about telling men to stop interacting with women because all their problems are because of them, how am I assuming wrongly when that's what this movement has been pushing on young straight men for YEARS now? And in this case MGTOW is quite literately the definition of an incel ideology because you are building resentment and hate against women because of privileges they may or may not abuse.

I see nothing wrong with that and I agree there's no fix. So why care about it? Care about your own life.

Then why does this subreddit exist if none of you are willing to fight for your own rights and for fair equal treatment? And when I said that there is no fix I meant that MGTOW does not offer a fix in the first place.

Perhaps giving fellow men advice is what I want to do. Giving advice and
insight that's it. I don't tell them what they should do. So I'm still
doing what I want.

And here's your problem, you're giving bad advise by pushing the idea of MGTOW. You're harming others rather than helping them.

True but it ain't the same thing for mgtow cause most of the time we
don't brag about be not needing women. We can already live alone by
ourselves doing our own stuff. Last time I checked independent women
don't have alimony, child support, false accusations and other problems
most men face so there's that.

The movement is quite literately called "Men Go Their Own Way" and are always blaming others for their problems and that they don't need other women to live a happy life. How the hell is that not the same thing as the independent woman crap that is being spouted everywhere on social media? Both genders have problems and both NEED each other to solve it, constantly blaming each other and ignoring each other like children is never going to solve anything and is just going to make genders more hostile against each other; and since society is already hostile against men, guess who is going to lose this fight when they refuse to participate and defend themselves? that's right, men. And especially anyone who follows MGTOW in any shape, way or form.

[–]TheSilverShade 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

And in this case MGTOW is quite literately the definition of an incel ideology because you are building resentment and hate against women because of privileges they may or may not abuse

As I suspected, you people use "incel" so much as a word and you don't even know what it means.

It means someone who's still a virgin involuntarily, Doesn't mean someone who blames women.

Criticizing women for their behavior and not putting up with their bullshit doesn't mean hate and resentment.

It's so easy to paint something you don't like as hate and proceed to gaslight.

Mgtow is not a movement but rather an ideology or a way of life. It is about exercising caution or protecting yourself.

Whether you like it or not doesn't matter. There's a lot of guys who are mgtow but don't know the name. Why ?

Cause they realize it's better, it works and there's less headaches. Some are mgtow and don't date at all, some date, some are monk mode and cut any social talk with women unless it's business. Lots of ways and lots of reasons too.

Don't undermine our bad experiences.

Do you think women collectively can harm a group of men who aren't even participating in dating?

Are you delusional?

Women can harm a man (both physically or financially) only if that man is, or at some point in past was, in a romantic relationship with her.

Because other simp men would jump onto him without any evidence.

If he was free and single, no woman can harm him. Any BS she cooks up will be seen as lies and she will either go to jail or mental asylum.

MGTOW is the best defence against a gynocentric society. Whether they choose to change the laws or not, doesn't even matter!

You didn't specify 'exactly how' the society will harm MGTOW...

Yes, if a man becomes violent or commits crimes, then may be they can.

But what if a MGTOW just goes about his business, pays his bills, and entertains himself in his free time?

Its inconceivable that a democratic society will legitimately harm him. (Unless they are willing to break laws).

Breaking laws may work with a few individuals (FBI does it all day!). But once the number of such men becomes substantial, that would be impossible. Without having a tyrannical govt.

A tyrannical govt will harm everybody. Not just men. I don't see such a govt lasting for a long time!

Feminists: "Women don't get violent when rejected".

Reality: Women don't get jailed when they get violent over being rejected.

It's amazing the mental gymnastics courts will resort to in order to justify female violence against men. In this case, she's apparently both psychotic and "at low risk of reoffending". In a previous one, it was because she was "too clever for jail".

It's fucked up to be a man in a country like UK. Rejecting a woman always carries a risk of violence and if you fight back, you go to jail. If you don't you end up in the hospital or worse, and judges will do their best to make sure she gets away with it. Not surprising though, they're told to do that.
