Where to meet other local housewives?

My mother used to do things like bake cookies or other baked goods and deliver them to the neighbors. Make sure it's something universally liked.

If you have kids, the playground is a great networking resource for stay at home moms. Other good options are family activities you could do with your child, such as swimming classes.

I personally don't go to church, but I know that many women are able to connect with other housewives through their church and Bible study groups.

Perhaps one of your husband's coworkers wife stays at home? If that's the case, invite them over for dinner or go mini golfing (I only say that because I love mini golf, others might come up with a better activity lol).

Well, this may not apply as much if you don’t have kids, but my mom has met many stay at home mom friends through a church moms group which she actually started. It is a range from young mothers who may be pregnant to older moms with adult kids and is more for fellowship then about doing activities with kids which some groups might do more of

I’d love to connect with other women in the neighborhood who may have some time to drop in and hang out a little throughout the day, but how to go about meeting them?

1) Go for walks at different times, either with a dog or a kid. You meet all kinds of people.

2) Spend time working on your yard. People on walks stop and talk. Wear a happy sundress and a big smile and it's even more likely.

3) Local HOA/parent FB groups can work, just watch out for karens.

<-- wife and I do all three, and make connections with all three. We put in huge raised beds, and I had people stopping their cars to say good job and to chat while I was working. :P Love the burbs.

I don't think it should be that hard. I get advertisements ALL THE TIME about local housewives who want to meet me. I travel too much for business to take any of them up on it, but it seems like they are out there!

They baked goods is a great suggestion. Homemade Chex mix is a fave of mine to give.

Also.... Go on walks in the AM or pay attention when you see the walking ladies. Every neighborhood has neighbors who meet up for morning walks. If you are also walking it makes it easier to make small talk.

Finally, look into local service groups (Junior League, Krew, YWCA, Kiwanis, etc). These organizations usually have a large number of women who work at home. Now these women may not be in your exact neighborhood - but I find it's easy to meet women who live close by.

When we moved into our house, some of our neighbors introduced themselves and welcomed us onto the block.

If you make it a point to say hello, good morning, good evening to everyone - you may start some friendships.

Or at least, you'll become friendly with your neighbors, even if you don't become friends.
