…..and I suspect has been even before the decision to separate was made.

Our marriage has (had) been unhappy for a long time leading up to our impending divorce, especially in recent months. And I’m now thinking this may well have fanned the already burning embers of our relationship.

We’re still living together on more or less civil terms and likely will be for a long time while we sort out a mountain of details. But in the meantime her constant texting (and covering of phone), new perfume, etc. etc. are all classic indicators that I’m trying to ignore but can’t.

A big part of me obviously feels betrayed/hurt/etc. I’ve been a 100 percent faithful partner for all 13+ years together. A smaller part of me, however, is thinking “bro you can have her - she’s about as difficult of a person as they come”. Cause it’s true - as sad as I am to see our decade+ marriage crumble I am not naïve to the fact that this has been a long time coming…..we simply make each other miserable.

Really I’m just posting this for therapeutic/venting purposes, but if anyone has any insight as to how I can more fully embrace the “bro you can have her” angle and let go of the “how could she do this to me 😢 “ angle I’m all ears/eyes.
