I needed to get the ex name off my mortgage. But a refi would have made a my home unaffordable. I called the mortgage company several times and they always told me that the only was to refinance.

Some one recommended an assumption to me and it worked. I called specifically asked for the assumption department and requested one.

Not every mortgage qualifies and they wanted a shit ton of data. Divorce agreement, proof I paid the last six months of payments etc…

Today I got my bill with only my name on the mortgage.
