I don't understand how some people can think men being good people or even decent people is a rare or strange phenomenon.

I understand that bad men exist. But I noticed a lot of people (particularly women) think being misogynistic/sexist or even stupid is a natural default for most men or something. I hate to be "the not all men" guy here. But I think it should be common sense to not think good/decent men are rare. I constantly hear how women say the bar is in hell for men. Or men can't gasps the simplest of things.

Then it gets nauseating to see people praise men for doing the simplest things. Like being in their child's life, not assaulting women, knowing how to cook, knowing how to clean, taking care of their hygiene, or even showing the bare minimum of kindness towards women (even though it's common for people to be mean to each other, that's both genders). These are "Do you want a cookie" moments. It's like they think good/decent men are these rare unicorns or Pokemon.

So In a way, this is kind of like the male version of benevolent sexism. Or the male equivalent to "I'm not like other girls". But yet this type of thinking is normalized in society.
