I think having a healthy, active sex life that you both enjoy is what is important. If that means playing out a pornstar persona, that’s totally cool. Role playing can absolutely address a man’s desire for sexual variety.

I don’t think it’s a requirement as some men would be turned off by this type of behavior from their wife, and some women wouldn’t be comfortable doing it, but they can have fulfilling sex lives too.

I think porn makes sex life and intimacy much worse in long term, so in my relationship we avoid watching it. But being adventurous and brave in bedroom is very important IMO. I look for inspiration on r/sex, r/pompoir, r/sextips also in books about Kamasutra, tantra, pleasure etc. and browse sex shop sometimes.

I think having a healthy sex life is important and making him feel desired is important - but porn is mostly theater and I’m not going to enjoy sex if I’m trying to emulate a porn scene (I don’t even watch porn). I think a lot of guys are turned off by that fake stuff too tbh

I think a healthy man is going to know that the really wild stuff you find on porn sites is not a good representation of what a sexual experience with a normal woman is usually like. Because of the way porn screws with your head (dopamine), you need more and more and more and weirder and kinkier shit to get off, hence the popularity of really crazy genres.

But everyone is different, and what seems really vanilla or wild to one person may be the opposite to another. I think so long as both parties are mutually enjoying and continuing to show interest in the other and sex, you're in a good spot. And as with anything: COMMUNICATE. It's never a bad idea to check in and just flat-out ask if he's satisfied, or if there's anything he'd be interested in trying or changing to mix things up. Even the sexiest woman can become stale if you don't change it up, just like how the tastiest recipe won't hit the same if you eat it 30 days straight. Not a perfect analogy, but you get the point.

Also a common topic here, but I'll say it again: your man should NOT need porn or be seeking it out, especially in place of the opportunity to have sex with you. Period. It is not healthy.

If that's what makes him AND you happy, then that's all that matters. Just as long as your needs are being met too. Personally, I would never act like a porn star. And my husband is actually disgusted by porn, he feels it degrades women and destroys men. He would be totally turned off if I were to act that way.

ETA: if he would expect me to do depraved sexual acts or else he would pay OF women to do it, then he could go right ahead and do that. IMO, he's not a captain if he's expecting me to do things that would make me feel degraded or uncomfortable or gross. At that point, he can go ahead and get it elsewhere and we would go our separate ways.

With porn being easier than ever to access, do you believe it is important to try and emulate the sort of things our men see in videos/pictures, in order to keep them attracted and satisfied? Surely better he come to me to do some depraved act he saw online, than wander to some OF whore?

I don’t know about porn star per se, considering that porn in itself can be unhealthy and very unrealistic for many men. I do believe it is important to put in the effort to have an active sex life and to be intimate with your husband. Sometimes things occur in our everyday lives when we’re married that it’s easy to put sex in the back burner. I know for my personal preference I don’t want to emulate a porn star as it’s just not my cup of tea, but I like keeping an open mind to spicing things up in a way that works for us.
