Sounds to me like you just need reps. Go out with a friend and have him give you orders of who to try and pick up, every time you don't act within 5 seconds you owe him $20.

I know some people are discounting this, but I'm the same as you. I'm going to try and answer this carefully because it's easy to come across as arrogant or bragging when talking about this.

When you have girls approaching you, wanting to hook up etc. It naturally inflates your ego, it feels good. So then you're afraid that your ego will start to crumble if you start approaching girls for yourself and they reject you. Throw your ego out the door. Rejection is normal, we all go through it. Some girls will like you, some girls won't. Despite the girls I've had chase me, I've approached my share of girls and I've had some look at me the same way they might look at a mosquito that's been bothering them.

It's why I don't give a fuck if a girl comes up to me and tells me I'm hot anymore, another girl right round the corner could easily think I'm a loser. It means nothing to me. All that matters is that you apply yourself and go after what you want.
