Be cool and move on buddy. It’ll feel crushing, but you’ve done something that most other people are too scared to, you put yourself out there. Pretend you’re unphased by it, and carry on with life.

What you’re feeling probably isn’t love, it’s lust. Love comes from sharing intimate (and by that I don’t necessarily mean sexual) experiences with the person and getting to know them on a shared understanding. You may have been in love with the idea of her, but the person is likely different from how you imagined.

Pro-tip for the future. Don’t ask a girl for her number, give her yours and tell her to message you sometime. It puts the ball in her court to call you, removes the pressure from her for feeling like she has to, and you leave with people having the impression that you’re a champ. Worst case scenario she doesn’t text you - if not, her loss.

Look man, I had a girl I swore was the one around 15 years old. I was totally infatuated with her, built her up in my head as some sort of Angel. I was really sad when she ended up dating another guy. But I soon realized it wasn’t love, it was just a crush. She ended up cheating on the guy years later when she went to college, and she probably would’ve did the same thing to me had I been the one she chose back in high school. Trust me, you don’t know what real love is yet, there will be plenty more girls, just move on to the next one. And try not to take girls too seriously while you’re in high school anyway, pretty much every couple from my high school days have been broken up for years now. Things change, people grow apart, you’ve got a lot of living to do. I’m not saying don’t date, you should definitely have those experiences, just don’t treat them like the end-all be-all.

I swear I felt bad a little but I laughed it off. The problem was that I put her on a pedestal and it made me feel like I’m asking a flawless goddess who I was thinking about all the time. We didn’t hang out but had the same friend circle. Do yourself a favour and don’t ask her out again, if you do happen to bump into her again, act as if nothing happened and be unbothered. Most teenagers your age are SO unproductive that they’d rather thrive off of the drama of everyone else or get off on petty squabbling and bringing people down to their low levels. There is definitely a middle ground here where you pick the success route but use bits of your free time learning to socialize / talking to everyone. But that will replace your other free time activities (video games, tv, etc.) if you want to have sufficient time for your school work. And it is still a balancing act, where you’ll be forced to constantly choose between school and socializing.

Personally, I picked the success route 100%, went to a top school, and used that opportunity to get a top job. Then another top job. Then another top job. Now, when I tell people what I do, their mouths literally drop. And women are mostly interested in me from the get go. I won’t lie to you though… High School sucked. But college and my life ever since has been a blast 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Best thing is to think about how you may do things differently next time. Could you do the same thing, instead of a few weeks preparing, maybe just ask her out in a day or so? Could you be more relaxed? Anything else you can think of?

It’s a learning experience, so just think how you could make it smoother or anything that can be improved.

Truth is, before I started focusing on game the way I’d ask girls out was to have a normal conversation and just throw in, “we should get together and do something sometime”. It’s that simple. Doesn’t need to be anything epic. But the longer you wait the more epic the event becomes.

No use to try again. Move through new girls. The feelings you have for that girl you'll be able to transfer to a girl that actually likes you. You need to talk to lots of girls. Like hundreds.
