So I'm going to keep this short and to the point, because frankly this is the simplest way I've found to change my mindset on a common issue that plagues many men: "should I go talk to her?"

Mathematically speaking you definitely should talk to her because the odds are in your favor.

Say you're at a bar, a coffee shop, book store etc... You see a cute girl or possibly even a gorgeous woman and if you are anything like what I used to be some of the following has probably run through your mind

 

"that girl is way too pretty to give me any interest"

 

"she probably already has a boyfriend"

 

"what the fuck would I say to a girl like that"

 

"If I go over there I'm definitely going to look like an idiot if I try to talk to her"

 

Now this will not be a post that delves into the deep subconscious roots of your issues where we tear down the fiber of your character and build you into the six million dollar man who men respect and women crave etc...

I see that stuff a lot on Reddit and while it can definitely help kick off some helpful and reflective introspection; I typically find that this method is like a slow burn that may or may not eventually lead into a raging fire. this post is more of a LETS THROW SOME FUCKING JET FUEL ON THIS SHIT AND GET THINGS DONE sort of post

 

SO HERE GOES

  • Option 1: You see a girl and decide to approach her

 

possible results

A) The two of you really hit it off and you close (makeout, sex, general messin about)

B) You only get her number and a possible second date

C) you have a nice conversation with a woman you find attractive (but no # close or second date plan)

D) doesn't go well and you get rejected

So if you break it down you have a 75% chance of having favorable results and a 25% chance of it not going well. If someone told me that one boxer had a 75% chance of winning over another and I didn't bet on him, I'm either crazy or just stupid.

 

Which brings me to my next point and the most important part of this post.

  • Option 2: You decide to not approach because you decide to make excuses not to.

 

The Only result is going to be E) Short term comfort (by allowing your anxiety to win) followed by long term regret that only compounds as time goes on. so yet again, if you choose this method based upon the knowledge that it will never work and will have 0% chance of success you're either crazy or stupid.

 

Option E will always and forever produce a 100% chance of failure.

 

Now lets say That Option 1 outcome D happen's (Rejection). If you go up to the woman and say something along the lines of "Hey I noticed you sitting here and I felt like I had to introduce myself, I'm Jimmycone, who are you?" and maybe give a compliment like telling her you like her outfit or some piece of jewelry she's wearing, it could even be complimenting her eyebrows but the point is to make her smile and feel good about herself. Because even if you're interaction gets awkward and you bail out of it, at the very least you might have just made this woman's day by sincerely complimenting her.

So when you tell yourself whats the worst that can happen, just remember none of them are because you decided to go over and talk to her.
