It was nothing spectacular. I just told myself I had to go through with. No matter how nervous I was, how awkward or weird it seemed, it was non-negotiable.

I waited for our professor to let us out of class. Once he did I luckily ran into my friend and talked to him for a bit while I waited for her to leave the classroom. She was with her friends which made it that much more nerve racking. However I just walked right up to her, asked for her name, introduced myself, even expressed that I was a bit nervous and that I normally don't do this and she was actually pretty cool about it. I got the number and we're texting now.

Now I understand this doesn't mean I'm going to get laid but this was a big deal to me. I was extraordinarly nervous and although it only lasted less than a minute. I was happy I went through with it. Baby steps to success. I got a rush from it and it was pretty exciting. I'm looking forward to doing it again.
