Try teasing the hot girl at first next time. Not saying it’ll work, but keep trying new things and learn each time.

Also, going out the gate with “you’re pretty” puts her on somewhat of a pedestal. Not to mention the fact that she already knows that. Prove in conversation that you are, or that you think you are, in her league. Name of the game.

It's just one big example of hindsight bias and confirmation bias.

If you would have succeeded and pulled her, everyone would have congratulated you on your brilliant direct game.

Don’t compliment a hot girl broadly about her appearance. Meaning don’t give a blanket statement like “you’re cute” or “you’re pretty” because they hear these all the time.

Find something that’s unique about her looks (or actions) and compliment her on that. For example regarding her looks say, “I wanted to come say hi because your smile is really cute and lights up your face”. Or for a little push pull, “Random but your eyes are so striking and cute, are they color contacts?”

An unearned compliment is worst thing you can give to anyone. "Hi, my name is " or "Hey, are you from ...?" Works way better. There are some great openers but simplicity is also attractive.

The best thing you can do is remove the word rejected from your vocabulary. She wasn't receptive. Who cares. It was very worth the effort, man. Approach is some of the most trickiest shit. Some girls can look like complete coldshits but can blow you away while a girl that looks cheery and opened can be a complete bitch.
