Is been close to a year after I officially divorce, over two years separated in total. Here’s some insight from someone who was in some of your shoes. At the beginning is going to suck, a lot of emotions and denial, look up stages of divorce and you’ll understand why your thinking a certain way and gives you an idea of where you are in the stages.
I was drinking pretty heavily at first just trying to numb the emotions, I recommend to try your best to stay away from alcohol, not only will it make your depression worse but can make you do irrational things that’ll worsen the process. Nothing good comes from drinking.
I tried reasoning, I tried changing but nothing worked. For the most part the moment a woman brings up divorce is usually over and no amount of begging is going to change her mind. Keep your dignity and try to stay level headed unlike women, men don’t usually make decisions out of emotion.
Time is the answer to your problems, everything bad sucks at the beginning but as times goes by, slowly but surely you’ll start regaining your self. The woman you married is no longer the same person you met years ago, this new person is a shell of the person you use to know. And they hold no interest in your well been so take care of your self.
Hit the gym this is said almost in every post, working out is not only healthy for your body but gold for your mind. This has a better feeling then drinking alone and passing out. As I started working out I was regaining my confidence I also felt a sense of relief.
As time went on I came to terms that chapter was over, I still look back at the memories but no longer have feelings towards that person. She made sure to burn every bridge on the way out.
Life does get better give it a chance, at first everything seems to be over but little did you know your just about to embark in a new chapter and your the author.
I found an amazing partner that meets my needs and standards, once your out this relationship look into what you really want out of a woman and don’t settle unless they give you that and more. Guys gain value as they get older, same can’t be said about the other side.
