We started mediation a couple weeks ago. We both agreed it was the best route for many reasons. Mediator made it clear we should all try and work together and not miss the forest for the trees (however that saying goes). Basically telling us it's not worth being petty and dragging this out. Our situation is pretty straightforward and not unique but we do have three kids. I got blindsided yesterday and served with divorce papers. There's claims of abuse, not being capable to care for myself, and unfit to care for my children.

I feel like losing my shit, hard to hold it together right now. This is ridiculous and I spoke to my lawyer who literally lost her shit and started cussing saying this is outrageous. I get free legal aid through my employer btw, which is nice. My wife has been only letting me have the kids one night a week because her lawyer says if she's uncomfortable with me seeing kids then don't let me have them. My lawyer said that's terrible advice. I'm being portrayed as a monster and I've never been in legal trouble in almost 20 years (DUI).

Anyways, I only wanted 50% custody but now I'm filing a motion for full custody. Likely won't get it but I'm going to rack her legal bills as.much as possible. She did this to herself. If I'm being petty just tell me, I'm sure I am, but so is she.
