Divorced three years this past May. She left, wasn’t happy, then treated me awfully, I asked for divorce, she acted like I sh0t her old man, how could I have I never appreciated her etc. she’s eating praying loving I guess.

The shock for me was realizing a spouse I gave vows to suddenly turned on me and it became obvious she had her secret strategy and plan all along — and nothing could be done - accept it or suffer. That and realizing kids are in my life half the time caused a part of my brain to go numb, which helps immensely actually (kinda like no smell during Covid).

You are supposed to miss your spouse and at one time you had those special feelings When your car runs out of gas do you just leave it ? Use this time to recharge the battery and just say l am sorry get into a church that you like and start rebuilding what you had. We all need more cheerleaders rather than the negative ones

It takes about a year for the dust to settle. I was there too. Still wanting to share how your day was and the little things. She does probably feel the same way but also probably has someone else to distract her. In the long run you will be better off for having to go through the painful detachment. She is essentially trapped in an addiction right now. One day you will actually feel sorry for her. For now it is just going to completely suck. Be as patient as you can and try not to turn to the bitter voices out there. It will get better after about a year. Good luck.

13 months post-divorce. I still miss the small things like greeting another human being when I get home or having someone to reach out to in the middle of the night when things weigh too heavily on me. But she wants no contact so I have to work through those feelings until I can start looking forward for myself again.

You’re not alone, brother. We go through it. It’s not easy and well it gets better. Start journaling, go for walks, cry, get to know yourself, basically all the things you’ve been distracted because you had someone. Now you get to know who you are. Which, I think that’s really the most painful part real realizing you don’t know who you are.

She has moved on to another man and you should too. No point in torturing yourself.

Plenty of women out there, if you're talking care of the kids, hire a babysitter and go outside, meet new people. Or take the kids to playgrounds and chat up single moms. Look for rings on fingers. I've also found out that younger single women are very keen to give "support" to single fathers. Very sympathetic to hear about your stuggles and offer a shoulder to cry on 😉

I feel that. About same amount of time. I miss her and our daily/weekly routine. I hate being alone. I hate not knowing how she’s doing. It just got shut off. I think about her often and it really messes up most days. It’s one of the hardest things I’ve had to deal with.

Yeah, that sucks. I was there. Then came a long and vicious legal battle. Now I just wish she dissapeared. Nit dead, maybe she could join a monastery or something and just get the fuck out of my.life.
