I have never met a woman working at McDonald's in her mom's cellar who isn't turning down someone worse (disloyal, substance abuse problem, baby mamas, doesn't wash dishes, something like that). That's the thing about men. While they don't seem particularly flattered and actually feel more pressured when a woman puts them on the spot directly, the worst of them absolutely do not fear intimately approaching a woman they might have fun with. If he ain't asking out one woman directly, he's nonstop texting someone else first. That's the vast majority of men.

Some big mantras of the manosphere are "all women are like that, all women are the same" and "doesn't matter, had sex." Any gaslighting of "men are afraid to approach women anymore" or "men are done sleeping with women and getting them pregnant and putting them in bad situations" is simply not believable. Some unfortunate men will clearly do whatever they feel like with whomever.

If you are a man who is not working at McDonald's in his mom's cellar... You might also be the fox of your own tribe. There are plenty of women who are NOT "like that" and who could fit in with you. They would still probably prefer a man who is also thoughtful, loyal, patient, intelligent, generous.

If we’re trading fables, I’d rather use The Princess and the Frog. Sadly, not every frog turns into a prince. Most just fucking sit there, croaking about ‘female hypergamy’ while mistaking their swamp for a kingdom. Every time a princess lowers her standards, another frog learns to think he’s royal.

The reasoning in your anology would be that foxes are omnivores. So they’re off eating mice or grasshoppers with their vixen besties. And are happy with that.

The grapes may be turning to mush though, becoming sentient and screaming EAT ME PLEASE, WHY WONT YOU EAT ME.

Grapes have never sexually assaulted, screamed at, or stalked me for deciding not to eat them.

Women's ire/fear toward men doesn't spawn out of nowhere. It spawns out of being raised by a mother who couldn't keep a bank account in her own name, being raised in a church that teaches that it's your fault if a man rapes you. It's spawned out of trauma, either our own, or that of our women friends.

My mother insisted she couldn't possibly hate men, yet she still banned me from having a male gynecologist. She still banned me from being braless or wearing a crop top as a teen. She still freaked out when she saw old men staring at me.

I think this could be applied to both women and men in different situations.

Like other analogies that use objects/animals to describe human behavior, when you try to explain it beyond the initial statement it just falls apart. Humans don't live by the arbitrary rules we set up in these scenarios.

Okay 👍 Foxes can’t get grapes. Grapes can’t get foxes. Maybe this is because foxes and grapes aren’t socializing together enough and are instead spending their time in gender-segregated online bubbles that feed them algorithmic ragebait about either grapes or foxes, respectively. Hopefully they can realize that they are not so different nor in such different positions and work together to solve this problem.

Gender wars has been my guilty pleasure, but I actually enjoy analyzing female side of the story more, it's more subtle and not tainted by violence.

If you get into Femtok, or whatever it's called, women on TikTok sharing their dating frustrations, and many of them do not seem much different from the men here bashing women.

These women almost always come from a heartbreak situation with someone who just wasn't that much into them, whom they designated their saviour. The situation is very banal, actually. A lot of women grow up with a wound of not being good enough and try to find a partner to validate them, and when it backfires — they pretend that they are done with dating, instead of addressing the route cause, why they need to latch onto every man they are into.

And it's a painful place to be in, really. It's psychologically safer to convince yourself you don't want anyone anyway than to take a risk of getting hurt again. Everyone uses this excuse, men and women.

The way out is to keep trying, and working on yourself, and dating, and accepting you might get hurt.
