(Ex?) transwoman here who had to quit because of lack of insurance/funds, the difference is night and day. But when they find out that you’re biologically born a male, the switch up with how they treat you is horrendous.

And it’s not just female privilege, it’s pretty privilege as well. Attractive women walk among society like they are gods, they are handed everything on a silver platter. Attractive men are still treated poorly, they just get laid and used more often.

It used to make my stomach sick the way that women at work would talk about their husbands. Especially the ones who would bring them flowers and go on expensive dates or vacations, treating them like queens. Meanwhile all the men I was friends with couldn’t wait to see their wives, were always texting them, always took photos for their outings and couldn’t wait to show them.

I would suggest you get some more therapy, seems like you have been trough a lot and need it. Glad to hear you are doing better though. Now to the questions at hand. What happened to you has nothing to do with privilege and everything to do with you - people didn't see you as a monster but you saw it like that because it's how you felt about yourself. No, people in general do not like people who don't like themselves so not hard to believe no one liked you. And you failed at job interviews and dating for the absolutely same reason - you can't present yourself good if you don't feel it. And you most probably have been in too much of an identity crisis to be able to deal with college. Once you transitioned things got better because you finally felt better. Without the struggle of who you are - you are doing good. The fact you claim your personality haven't changed is what makes me suggest you still need more therapy for all the trauma you have been trough. Wish you good luck and a lot happiness.

Just so we're clear here, all of your problems pre-transition and all of your "privileges" post-transition are a product of patriarchy still. Patriarchy works against men too.

Being seen as a monster as in seen as a potential threat, abuser, harasser, or creep comes from a long history and statistics of men abusing women because of power dynamics and patriarchy.

People not liking you/ not getting hired - that might be too personal for me to comment.

Dating life - Men are socially expected to pursue and prove their worth - again another patriarchal norm since men are thought to be superior, they should pursue and prove themselves whereas women who historically did not have the same jobs, rights, education, bank accounts, or power as men are socially expected to get chased and courted.

People seeing you as a good person - Women's halo effect. Women are seen as good or non-threats by the patriarchy, unlike men, who are "strong and superior" and are potential threats. While it may feel good at times, sometimes this perception of goodness comes from a sexist mindset where people expect you to be pleasant. This is why assertive men in the office can be seen as strong or leadership-material whereas assertive women in the office can be seen as "bossy" or "bitchy". Also, while it might feel nice for people to automatically see you as a good or pleasing person, it is sexist to not believe you can be a bad or pleasing person.

I like being a man, most men do, obviously you didn't. Have you considered that transitioning made you happier and that showed in the way you relate to people and what you're capable of? When I was depressed I couldn't even attend college, I was isolated, I was disheveled. The antidepressants didn't change my personality, but they made me able to finish college and relate to people much more easily. So one could say we have more free will.
