The hard part is finding the girls who are attracted to you, but that is partly solved by increasing the number of girls you meet. (and hitting the gym etc)

It's a construct, a simulacrum, a fantasy. You're trying to live up to an unreal expectation in terms of appearance, skill and personality. It's a tall order to fulfill even though it's a lofty goal.

Could be, I never read them but worked for me was understanding that women like those things for the attention to details, women love stories and right when you take them on a date how you approach them what you say and do matters. I personally think it will set a guy back because they are the product of a fevered imagination. It’s better by far to read Edith Wharton or the poems of the great women poets like Emily Dickinson. Hell, if you really want that sort of thing, read Nancy Friday’s “My Secret Garden”, which can be read on Internet Archive.

For a classic, consider “Fanny Hill”, which tells the story of a naive, young prostitute, who rises to respectability.

the problem is, reading those fanfics is like watching a gymnast or martial artist and saying "I copied them, so why isn't it working?". Those athletes are paying attention to subtle cues; they already have their weight in the right place; they know where to break rules to compensate for their own unique center of balance. This is why they'd tell you that trying to learn their artform without a coach is difficult and ingrains bad habits.

That said, I don't advocate for dating coaches, because that always struck me as weird. More useful would be to get a female friend and talk about why the scenes work, and follow up with why some scenes don't. Obvipusly there's gonna be their personal biases as well -- that's fine. So long as you understand what women are noticing, you can develop ebough social sense to tweak your execution.

Yet after all that, I wouldn't say "don't do it". Just like self defense tutorials online, they can inspire you or help you figure out what direction you want to take your training. Just be smart enough not to expect that a crash course on the university of youtube (or Ao3 or wattpad) is enough alone to keep you out of ambulances or police cars when you try those moves in a real situation.

And if you don't have female friends, those sites you listed aren't a bad place to get some. Communities around smut can be surprisingly inclusive
