I appreciate most of their takes here. I didn't like that they got into an argument on the whole divorce stat thing as I didn't feel like they were being any better in their commentary than the person that paid to bring it up.

More than anything, I think the clip they showed at the beginning of the show makes me want to go see more of what Joshua Doss has said on all of this. He spoke pretty eloquently about it.

My theory is that female gendered commitments and bad behaviours are very hard to study and pinpoint. They are private. The type of violence and influence women have cannot be publicly accounted for. That leads to a scenario in which women seem to be these passive beings. They were never passive. Never. They were private. Invisible.

Male violence is usually public, overt, visible, physical. These are easy to see and make laws to control. They are unambiguous.

Female violence is very, very private, covert, invisible and spiritual. Most of the things a woman can do to destroy a man's life cannot be predicted by a specific law. It simply can't. These are very small, subtle, private actions. Most of them wouldn't even be understood by someone out of the relationship.

One of the reasons for the Red Pill is that feminism does not criticize how awful womanhood actually is. It is awful. Many women know it, but they themselves are not allowed to talk about it.

Malehood is awful. Womanhood is awful. But guess which one of the two you're able to freely criticize and call out on its bullshit?

I didn't watch the video yet but I know that the redpill and manosphere areas are what happens when feminism goes too far and then we have the manosphere as a safe space for men who have felt demonized and unappreciated.

Take, for instance, the demand to be more compassionate and empathetic. Well, sure, let's do this! But then don't expect me to thrive within highly conflictual and competitive circumstances - guess what? To be succesful in a highly competitive, in permanent crisis capitalist society you need to be ruthless and cold-blooded. Otherwise you will be left behind.

If I follow this advice, I'll get much less financial rewards. I'll curb my career ambitions. I'll accept having much less money, not owning a house or a car. And then: where are the women? Well, they are actually looking for ambitious, money-making, succesful men.

They cannot see the contradiction here. Maybe because they have it lighter here. In competitive fields, people are usually more careful with women's feelings.

What they want is paradoxical. The life which is the result of the actions of a compassionate, empathetic man is not a life most women find attractive. And this is a fact.

Red Pill movement feeds on this kind of confusion.

I was once confused; now I see it as it is. And I decided that I will keep being myself, prioritizing knowledge, time, spirit, compassion over money, wordly success, cars, houses, trips and hotels. But I really doubt I'll find a partner that accepts that.

The legacy media don’t recognise the fact they have created the very vacuum that has led to the success of these influencers they also don’t recognise that many of these influencers actually have a positive message about living a healthy, positive life. If the mainstream doesn’t provide a positive narrative for your identity and goes out of its way to tell you you’re bad, you go elsewhere to find the positive and empowering messages.

I agree with a lot of the video. It is true. Left Wingers and Democrats spent a good decade give or take denigrating men and demonizing masculinity and labeling everything that's toxic about it. They failed to offer a positive version or several examples of positive male roles model outside of Fred Rogers. Yea, it's a no brainer, when you demonize men and use the sins of their fathers as justification then don't be surprised when they turn to people like Tate.

Absolutely true, although I'd throw in that a wider collapse in living standards and the general shitness of the current landscape through a range of economic factors (we're all getting impoverished by billionaires) also plays into this. If men felt confident and happy in their lives in general, I doubt this rhetoric from feminists would bother them as much - it's when we're all (Men and women) down on the ground anyway, and the kicking comes from people who should be standing in solidarity with us, that it becomes harder to understand who the enemy is. Though I'd maintain they're useful idiots of the enemy, in the same way that the redpillers are.

That being said, feminism is not the same as women, and I feel plenty of support and understanding from individual women. Just not from the movement that claims to advocate for them. Feminists are too focused on their righteous fury than in actually making anything better - they have to win through total victory and subjugation or not at all. A wiser ideological framework would recognise the true enemy and would seek to build bridges with the true allies. Alas.

The far fucking right has nothing to offer us, mind you. I reject absolutely their characterisation of the dynamics between men and women. I don't want to oppress and push down women, I just want feminism to maintain a consistent application of principles with respect of compassion and understanding, rather than carrying on like a right wing hate group against acceptable targets. We'd achieve far more together, but I won't accept being treated like shit for the privilege of unity.

I had a mild red pill phase, but what turned me off were the proposed prescriptions. Lol a lot of the diagnoses are either spot on, or spot on adjacent. Sadly, it's really the only widely accessible place for men to air their grievances and get feedback from other men.

Meanwhile, the entire media landscape functions as women's personal diary. They can bash, pathologize, and demonize men to their heart's content. Across all media outlets, a new article about how men are the scourge of the Earth is published essentially daily. It's extremely frustrating.

I've been a long time fan of aba and preach. That redpill video is what got me hooked on them years ago, and im glad abas following up on that video.

But near the end he mentioned something about adding contexts to stats and how people just throwing it out there is just low in behaviour.

He also brought up the male suicide thing and gives a joking interpretation as "oh they should just cease from existence!". I had a male feminist bring up that same stat, and interpreted it as toxic masculinity. It's wild man.

But yea context and nuance matters, and it often gets lost in this ideological culture wars ppl engage in.

I think the political discourse around gender has not substantively advanced in my adult lifetime even though the material conditions have advanced substantially.

I think time is a flat circle and we just keep going round and round and round repeating the same cycles of discourse and same arguments over and over and over and over and over.

Capitalism requires sacrificial workers in the same way it requires slaves in the "periphery". Inside the empire (and outside) enforced male gender roles are non-negotiable.

In the same way that Western liberals are able to turn a blind eye to neocolonialism and imperialism, western women have to turn a blind eye to men's oppression. Except not having the convenience of distance, they must continually generate antipathy and dehumanization.

Edward Said's analysis of Othering and in-group self concept is quite useful here.

These people have pioneered a male-friendly reading of gender and sexual dynamics. If they are skewed to the Right that's because the Left has been almost completely coopted by Capitalism, and turned from supporters of the working class into unthinking proponents of female power. For most leftists, woman is a kind of goddess, and questioning her flawlessness makes them flinch and fills them with religious dread.
