Why deny it? For the same reason people with preferences for certain ethnic groups or weight deny it. It’s not socially rewarded to express such prefernces.

I think it does matter for a lot of women, but definitely not for all. I think some of the women who say that it doesnt matter could actually be honest about it. My ex boyfriend, the one I was very much in love with, was 168cm while Im 170cm.

I do think its dishonest when women say it just to be nice. A lot of women do actually care and lying aint helping anyone.

Some women care a lot, some women don’t at all. Some men really care a lot about being taller than the woman they’re with too. I’ve been rejected by men my height or shorter. I’m 5’2”.

Different women simply have different preferences. Most are not exclusively wanting to date men who are really tall. Most women's attitude to height in dating is simply wanting to date someone taller than them (the average woman is 5'4"). Even then it isn't a hard and fast rule. Someone differing from your preconception can still be perfectly honest.

I've been told off for "denying" height matters in dating simply for saying I have a soft preference for shorter men. So I guess I was supposed to lie.

The women who deny it don't care about height.

The women who do care about height don't feel a need to speak up when people say women care about height.

If you say women don't care about height, you'll get mostly comments from men saying we do.

The vast majority of women want to date someone taller then them. Considering the natural height difference of men and women and that its always been this way its not really a problem. Unless of course you want to exclusively date the type of women who wants a large height gap.

Most women love kissing. 2 to 3 inches is the right difference for an embrace.

To me height matters, and always did. But i'm arguing usually about extent of that. For example where i was from it was pretty common knowledge that women want someone taller than them. But taller than isn't necessarily >6'. Then also those women dated men of similar height as them, no biggie. And it wasn't because he made some heroic deed, and nobody batted an eye too. So when guy say that women have some rigid standards....i tend to disagree. If they claim that height is the only thing that stops them i also tend to disagree.

Look, I'm tall myself (5'10.5"). I've been exposed to as many shorter as taller men my entire life, which made it is so that I've gotten used to that and don't really care about any sort of height difference in either direction, as long as we are not talking about more than 6"-7" as it just becomes impractical at that point.

Most women however are not as tall, so are more used to men being taller. It feels "strange" or "off" to them when that it is not the case, so I suppose that it makes some sense in that regard. Keep in mind that there is a massive difference in average height between women and men.

I really don’t care about it, I’m dating a man who is a head shorter than me (I’m 5’9 and he’s 5’4) but I realise I’m an outlier and most normie heterosexual people have a weird hang-up about height.

All my life the men in my vicinity are taller than me (even if it is 1cm taller). So it does feel weird when an adult man is shorter than me (i'm 160cm).

I’m 5’10 and my partner is 5’7. I couldn’t care less. I have plenty of female friends dating men that are the same height or shorter. I leave the house and see plenty of short men in relationships. My dad is shorter than my mother. Then I see men online whine constantly that women hate short men, that women don’t even like short men and if they do date them they must have ulterior motives. No one hates short men like a short man.

Also, even if some women do have that preference, what’s the problem? Most men wouldn’t date a woman that’s much taller than them. They want to feel big and masculine. They call tall women unfeminine. In the same way, women wanna feel smaller compared to their men.

I have a preference for short Kings. My husband is 5'10", though I didn't know that until we met. He's the exception to the rule for me. My live-in partner and one of my other partners are both 5'7" and I have another I see who is 5'5". They're incredible in multitudes of ways. And I'm really happy to have them in my life among other things.

Only reason height really matters to me is because I'm 5 ft myself. The shorter, the better. Though I've learned the absolute sweet spot for me is someone between 5'6"-5'8" when it comes to men anyway.

Women I prefer between 4'10"-5'4". I don't like it when they're much taller than me. Makes me really nervous for some reason. I like it better when we can share clothes, shoes and stuff. Makes it easier.
