I use it from time to time, honestly, do you think it is a good idea to spray it in a small space, like bathroom, or any confined space?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Pepper foam is a better option so you don't become a victim of the airborne particles that spray creates.

Dude.

Buy yourself a pepper spray.

Go outside.

Use it.

A few times.

too much theory. get a condom, get a pepper spray and try it, tape it and report back on your technique. teach us something that way.

You're an idiot :-)

This woman apparently has a father wealthy enough to drop half a million or so as a settlement for her, yet she still felt the need to spermjack some guy's swimmers.

No, if she wanted kids, she would have gone to a spermbank.

She wanted a provider. Her father has filled that role by giving her everything she wanted and nothing she needed.

Because somehow that is easier than carrying a baggie to put your condom in and take it with you, or throw it out a window, or use any common chemical you'd find in the bathroom, like mouthwash instead.

This whole story, starting at the premise is pants-on-head retarded.

Its just the sort of thing thing that some guys around here would come up with too. "Yeah, put hotsauce in your condom bro.. that'll keep the bad womens from stealing your seed, and punish them for trying." Its just Stupid.

I find it hard to believe that anyone that thinks that is a good idea, can manage to even get laid.

[–]greycloud24 10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"I find it hard to believe that anyone that thinks that is a good idea, can manage to even get laid. "

you are completely underestimating just how dumb many women are. it doesn't matter what you do. i have seen posts on 2xc where women were justifying staying with a guy who was abusing their children. i have seen countless women fall for guys that aspire to be "thugs". i have seen women who have defended their guy in court for beating her up. try to be more realistic, there is no bottom standard for people to get laid. so quit shaming like that, its pretty much the same as slut shaming. now go fuck off you troll.

[–]2 Senior Endorsed Contributorvengefully_yours 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Think of it this way, you put something harmless in to kill the sperm, you probably won't know she is doing it. Put Tabasco in there and you will damn sure know she is trying to loops you, which constitutes fraud or should.

[–]Zebleblic 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think its hilarious. I'd definitely do it if I thought a girl was going to try that shit. It would teach her a tough lesson.

I love how doing something harmless and sanitary is considered trust issues and worth ending the relationship over... It's like saying you have issues for not letting a murderer borrow your gun because they say you won't get pinned for the murder... The risk reward ratio is just too far in favor of running some hot water...

[–]ibuprofiend -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I seriously doubt the guy actually has OCD either.

Why do so many of you guys read trashy websites like Salon and Buzzfeed? I can't stand that shit.

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 12 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link

There are a number of ways to kill the swimmers in the condom. Rinse it out in the sink, even turn it inside out to do this. A few drops of bleach or liquid plumber will eat it up. Seriously though 15 years ago they were coming out with a male birth control pill, what happened to that? That is what is needed. A vasectomy can be reversed when it comes time to make babies but they aren't even effective sometimes. You have to go every 6 months for a sperm count because sometimes they don't work, so whats the point? I guess you could also put spermicide in the condom.

[–]Leonard_Church30 points 12 years ago [recovered] (16 children) | Copy Link

What I heard from one of the head developers of the male birth control pill is that the project was totally shut down by the feminist lobby, even after R&D was finished and test showed no signs of prevalent or serious side effects. Apparently men being having easy access to medical contraception oppresses women or something like that.

Although I've heard rumors that they sell male contraceptives in countries like China where the feminist lobby has 0 power whatsoever.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

That's just crazy. No one should have to be a parent unless they choose to be. There are plenty of men who want kids. It's not like there would be no more babies ever if men had birth control options. We would just have less unwanted babies and I think that would be great.

[–]Leonard_Church31 points 12 years ago [recovered] (4 children) | Copy Link

It's not about the babies, it's about the fact that men could easily take contraceptives without telling women or getting their consent or approval. Feminists view any legislation or products that give men power or agency as proof of systemic oppression.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan 21 points22 points23 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You mean how women can pretend to take contraceptives like the pill and get knocked up.

Men need more things to give them power because they are the only ones who are forced to act with agency at all times.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Wait. What? How is it oppression to have control of your own body? Shouldn't everyone have control over their own body?

[–]Leonard_Church12 points 12 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

You should, but I've met many people (both male and female) that seem to think reproductive agency belongs solely to the female. It's alarming that there are people out there that think like this. I don't know if you've seen any of those absurd propaganda posters that have a picture of a uterus and captions about how women's superpower is that they make humans and that should be solely their responsibility. But, I'm starting to see them more and more often.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Never seen that. And how is it ever the woman's sole responsibility? You need the man to start the human making process. And generally you need the man for financial support in order to properly raise the baby. I could give more reasons as there are many but the point is that men are not only needed in order to make babies and families, they are actually pretty damn important. To say that they don't matter in the process at all is just a really horrible lie.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Fuck. I'd take that pill for sure then. Imagine blowing inside a woman while wearing no condom? Awesome.

[–]rpkarma 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Won't lie, it's one of the best parts of having a trustworthy LTR. Shame they're so rare...

[–]theubercuber2 points 12 years ago* [recovered] (5 children) | Copy Link

Do you have any sources or more information on that? This is the first I've heard about this.

[–]Leonard_Church 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

It was in a video that I believe I saw on this subreddit a while back. I'll see if I can find it.

Edit: Here is a video of Dr. Coutinho where he talks about his Gossypium (cotton) based male contraceptive and how feminist leaders at the World Population Summit shut him down.

[–]luxury_banana 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

That pill wasn't safe, from what I know. But you're right that feminists did protest it. RISUG or Vasalgel which are shots in your vas deferens that are fully reversible and last years may be on the horizon, though.

sigh

I cant fucking believe this, I have heard about it before, but I have never seen any actual proof. Can some fucking person put together a video or something that shows exactly how this played out.

[–]TRP Vanguardnicethingyoucanthave 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

A vasectomy can be reversed

It's very difficult and costly to reverse a vasectomy. If you think you want children, you should freeze some sperm.

they aren't even effective sometimes.

Vasectomies are 99.85% effective. They're better than condoms

You have to go every 6 months for a sperm count because sometimes they don't work

Uh no. You have to get two sperm counts done after the procedure, then you're considered sterile for the rest of your life.

[–]redpilldude 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I heard that big pharma companies won't pay for Phase II and Phase III clinical trials of male birth control pills because they don't believe that there is enough of a market. (It can often cost a billion dollars or more to get a drug through Phase II and III clinical trials and approved by the FDA).

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points16 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Of course there is a market. Every man who doesn't want kids would be all over that shit. That's like every male under 30. I have a son who is 8 and if there was a birth control pill for him I would get him a prescription as soon as he hits puberty, just like people do with their daughters.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You're halfway there. The problem isn't that there isn't a market for male birth control, the problem is that it would cannibalize the market for female birth control. This is especially problematic for two reasons: 1) most male birth control methods are proposed to last for years... there is far far less money to be made on a shot every few years than on a pill that a woman has to take every day, and 2) while practically all women have regular sex, many men have sex rarely (80/20 rule) and would just rely on condoms if they do, so the market would shrink from 80% of women to 20% of men.

I always have it on my person. I have a concealed carry permit for several types of hot sauce.

[–]TRP VanguardHumanSockPuppet 59 points60 points61 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Lucky. Here in California, we're highly restricted on the kinds of hot sauces we can carry on us...which is fucking weird, given how often incidents of Mexican food occur here.

[–]Jabroni12345 30 points31 points32 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

given how often incidents of Mexican food occur here.

Haha, well played.

Where I'm at, we support Hot Sauce culture strongly. In fact we even have the "Tasteless Doctrine" in our laws. If someone comes into your house with unspiced food, you can legally add hot sauce directly to the food, without first having to retreat to your kitchen. Some say its controversial, but the individual right of self-spicing is paramount IMO.

[–]Manuel_S 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Doing it to lamb curry is tantamount to slapping the hostess across the face, though. No judge will condemn you if you shoot his ass cold dead. Little known but relevant exception. Prawn curry is ok.

[–]hermit087 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

You're joking, but people in California are seriously trying to shut down a hot sauce factory because it creates fumes in the surrounding area.

[–]curiousthis 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's that mcdonalds hot coffee lawsuit all over again eh?. The actual facts: all the complaints were from 4 families, and if you follow the money, you can get to a different conclusion.

[–]Xiudo 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

ugh, it's just like the Huntington beach fire pits. there is a handful of home owners about 1/2 mile away from the firepits that say the "particular matter" from the firepits are killing their babies. but if you follow the money it turns out the local gas company has a solution. a multi-million dollar project to make all the fire pits with natural gas and Coin operated valves.

[–]Xiudo 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

In California we must limit the bottle size to under 10oz but we are allowed to carry as many bottles as we want. However, we need to use a tool to remove the cap from the hot sauce.

I have no idea if this happened, but it is true that many people often forget that just because you "won" and got a bullshit accusation dropped, you didn't necessarily come off well. If this girl is rich and sued him for this bullshit, and he is middle class, the legal fees and time away from work and mental stress can still hurt massively. Always counter sue for wasted time and money if you think you've got a good shot at it. IANAL but from what I can tell a lot of people are just so happy to be done with it all and get on with their life, perhaps after a FRA or something similar, that they do not get justice for having their name dragged through the mud, put in jail for a bit, losing their job, etc.

Few other tips though for controlling your seed. I wrote about this in a previous post, but I've got a friend who swears by dropping acetone or isopropyl alcohol into the condom afterwards. These are clear substances and literally every female bathroom has it near the mirror. Facial toner, make up remover for a high% alcohol, and nail polish remover for acetone. (Many more products have one of these as well). Hydrogen peroxide is also a solid bet for killing your sperm and many girls have it or a product containing it in their bathrooms as well.

Alternatively, you can turn the water as hot as it will get and flood the condom. Not at all bulletproof but sperm is destroyed at hotter temperatures. It's pretty efficient / simple and what I used to do. 94 degrees F is sufficient, so turn the tap water on hot until its steaming and you are well over that amount.

[–]thebellmaker 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Out of curiosity, does really cold water not work too? What's the lower threshold to kill them?

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't know, but I suspect that since sperm can be frozen and reused, cold water will only be effective in that it will dilute and flush out the semen.

[–]hermit087 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I assume your testicles are the coolest part of your body for a reason. Even sitting in a hot tub can lower your sperm count.

[–]FloggedPanda 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sperm has some sensitive enzymes that denature in hot water. Next time you're jacking it in the shower, hold/spray your spunk in very hot water and see what happens.

Brb, justice boner is raging too hard.

[–]ioncloud9 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Here is what I do. Since blowing your load in a condom means your dick gets to marinate in it for a few minutes, I goto the bathroom rather quickly after sex is done. First, I fill the condom up with water to make sure its watertight and didnt break. Then I dump the contents into the toilet, then leave the condom inside out, wipe it off with TP, throw that in the toilet, and wrap the remains up in TP and bury it in the trash. This takes about 30-45 seconds and is worth much more than 18 years of child support.

[–]moltar 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Why not just flush it down? That's what I do and there's no recovery from that.

[–]ioncloud9 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

no. I dont flush water balloons down the toilet either. I flush paper designed to break down rapidly and not things that dont break down.

[–]HULKx 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

because it will clog the pipes.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why not just wash, rinse, wipe and KEEP IT WITH YOU. Put it in your sock or something? Sounds weird but a little weirdness is better than child support.

Id rather have it on my person than in her reach. Theres a good chance you worse pants there, put it in the old wrapper and back into the pocket. Chuck it when you get home or at a random fast food place.

[–]RobbenQC 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

This is probably fiction but destroying your used condoms is excellent advice and should become common practise for men. Most people keep antibacterial handwash in their bathrooms, I'd bet even that'd do it if your local tobasco laws are prohibitive.

[–]DrXaos 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

No, bacteria != sperm.

Use spermicide, not hot sauce, not soap, not anything broscience.

I defer to your superior knowledge. Didn't realise sperm was so resilient.

Regular Tabasco sauce is actually one of the hottest of the mainstream hot sauces on a per volume basis. You have to go specialty to get stuff that is significantly hotter.

[–]luxury_banana 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Tom Leykis definitely did talk about putting hot sauce in condoms on his radio show. Whether this story as a result of one of his listeners is true, who knows. Crazier stuff has happened as a result of his show. He had have some woman who murdered her child's father call in and confess to it, which was legit. Unfortunately she didn't go to prison for it. She got away with it.

[–]genericusername80 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't doubt the hot sauce part of it at all... that's totally plausible. But a six figure settlement in a countersuit? Why??? For what? I find that part to be completely implausible. But hey, if people like to indulge in their revenge fantasies...

That Megan Vice story is super fucking nuts though. Pretty horrifying. Sounds like she got away with murder. Either that or she made up the most fucking insane twisted story imaginable...

And? Who cares if they see the color? If they say something, you need to ask why the hell they grabbed it in the first place, then get the hell out of there.

...And the girls win again. See, if this guy (this hero) did not settle, and instead fought the case in court and won, the decision would become CASE LAW AND ESTABLISH A LEGAL PRECEDENT that men can have their bodily fluids maliciously stolen and that such action is punishable by law.

This is a great story. And this guy is cool, and I've done the same thing (way back when I was single) - luckily (for me) no girls ever tried this with me.

But what we need here is either black letter (not likely) or case law (the way to go for this) in favor of men.

So if you think you have a good shot at winning a case, don't settle. Push it through and be the hero men need.

Inspiring story but... why not just flush the condom down the toilet? It seems like a lot more work to put Tabasco sauce in a condom.

[–]Endorsed ContributorFLFTW16 24 points25 points26 points 12 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Good LORD?! Do you not read internet forums, bro? A condom will destroy certain types of plumbing systems, causing several tens of thousands of dollars in damage if done enough times.

[–]TRP VanguardJP_Whoregan 16 points17 points18 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Plumber friend of mine can confirm, most DEFINITELY this. Especially a lot of older plumbing systems built in the late 70's early 80's. Most of the time, if a clogged toilet doesn't bust free with a plunger, it's almost always jammed with used condoms. And it's hugely embarrassing for the owner/tenant when he starts snaking them out.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

My college dorm bathroom was still a-okay by the time I left in May so I guess I got lucky there. I had no idea it was that bad.

[–]AngerIsOurGift 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Some poor schmuck is going to have the toilet get clogged two years from now, the plumbing ruined and when they snake out all of those condoms, he's going to be in shock.

Good work, haha.

[–]kragshot 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nope...your dorm toilet has bigger pipes than one in a normal residence. Toilets in public facilities have an expectation of more frequent use than one in a residence.

If you get some serious bad luck and it fucks with a municipal sewer system....yes

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

It won't fuck terrbily with the municipal system, those screeners get cleaned out regularly (note: not necessarily frequently) and they take shit like this into account. It will fuck greatly with the system on the customer end, however. And if you don't have a municipal system (have a septic tank under your lawn) then I hope you enjoy

source: did three months of research for a project on a city's sewer system and how to lower the amount of untreated wastewater... which included finding out what exactly makes up untreated wastewater, learning how and where in the process it is screened, and what is done with it. also, you probably don't want to know how much untreated shit gets dumped into local rivers by many municipalities.

edit: it will, over time, fuck with a municipality. It just won't be the same as on the user end if they have their shit together, but it will require them to shut down an area most likely while the first pump station is cleaned of the blockage. and that's if they catch it before it damages the pump.. you don't want to know what those cost

[–]Kaelteth 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yes, it can fuck with a municipal sewer system.

Source: I work daily with municipal sewer systems. I am employed by a municipality. I have seen this shit happen with my own eyes.

And I'm well aware how much untreated crap goes into rivers. Thankfully, not in my municipality...but yes, happens ALL the time.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I didn't say that it wouldn't. And according to what I've been told, if the city has its shit together than this stuff gets caught before causing any major damage, although it is a major inconvenience. I asked you some questions elsewhere.

edit: also my comment wasn't written only for you, which explains some of the wording. I also got confused and halfway through thought that I was responding to someone else's comment. Sorry about that, I've got a migraine and am trying to just live through it

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I also wrote that edit before I got this comment notification, and probably after you read my comment, because I left out that it will screw with it over time. It should not be able to damage your pumps though, and if it can then your preventative measures aren't what they should be, given how people love to just throw/flush everything away/down nowadays

TL;DR: read my edit above because I don't think it was there when you replied

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Screw the internet, does the guy not have any rational thinking ability?

Pumps don't handle solids. Solids block pipes. That's more than enough.

[–]Kaelteth 11 points12 points13 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

You can do massive damage to a municipal sewer system with a little bit of bad luck. Do not flush condoms!

[–]TRP VanguardJP_Whoregan 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Yep, depending on how far down the pipe they get before they clog. If the damage is limited to your property, you could be looking at a sizable plumbing bill; if it gets into the city system and they determine you were the cause, the city sewage company could send a massive bill.

And if you're on a septic tank, don't even get started on the expensive (and potentially very, very dirty) repercussions of that.

[–]dherik 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I'd really like to see a city prove that a condom once it leaves my property is mine.

[–]Kaelteth 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Your condom? No.

But I can also say that I have many lift stations that service small areas - and if a pile of condoms takes out my lift station, I'm billing it back to the neighborhood.

Last little lift I did? Quarter million dollar project.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Couple questions for you:

What size municipality do you work in? How often are the screens on the pump stations (what I assume you mean by lift station - just a station with a pump to raise pressure) actually cleaned? (I never got a number on that before, only that it happens infrequently) How big an area does each lift station service?

I'm asking these because I did a project last year that dealt with municipal waste/storm water management and wastewater overflow and dumping.

[–]Kaelteth 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

My municipality is under 1000 people. We don't use pump stations, as our sewer system isn't LPS - we're entirely gravity driven (except for the lifts obviously). The lift stations pump the crud to a physically higher level so that gravity flow can take over again. (I'm lying slightly actually - we have one 300ft segment here that is LPS, but the lift is still identical to a traditional lift station).

The area the lift services fluctuate...its all a matter of the landscape & keeping the shit flowing downhill. I have one lift that literally serves around 10 houses....I have 2 "private lifts" servicing a single property - and the rest serve wider areas.

Theoretically, these lifts have grinder pumps/etc on them to deal with the bigger chunks, including a condom being flushed. And generally speaking, they do their job right. We don't have screens on our lifts because of the grinders...we use a check valve in order to stir up the shit (no pun intended) and dislodge anything that could cause harm to the pipe/grinder. The problem is - if you get a mass of non-shit solids (like a bunch of flushed condoms, or feminine hygiene products, or even those so-called "flushable" baby wipes) you can jam the fuck out of the grinder, which can wipe out the pump. True worst-worst-worst case, is if the pump seizing causes an overload in the electronics, you can theoretically wipe out an entire lift station - and a baby station starts at around a quarter million to replace.

The other worst-case is if you get a downstream clog due to the amount of non-shit solids in the pipe. Again, all depends on the line, but if you get a major sewer backup and it can be traced back to a person or neighborhood, you could have some serious liability (or shared liability). Imagine 30 basements flooding with raw sewage, and the cleanup cost of that.

I realize that I'm talking true worst-cases here. The odds of a single condom being flushed doing anything bad is extremely low. But what we find is that the more people that think they can just flush anything, the more pressure we put on the lifts, and the more prone to failure they become. So whenever I hear people advise to flush anything that isn't piss, shit or toilet paper, I get a little concerned.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Thanks for the detailed reply, really appreciate it, especially since you aren't being the slightest bit rude to to me for asking this, as that happens quite a bit when asking for clarification on stuff like this.

The city I was dealing with was around 350 000, so not quite the same.. obviously a bit of a bigger budget, and different preventative measures as it seems to be. That is the scenario that I was thinking of until now, and that is my mistake. I'm a bit out of it at the moment.

What I understand lift stations to be is simply smaller pumping stations - because there isn't high flow, it basically acts as a sump pump does by turning on at a certain level and off again before the pump inlet is exposed. What you're saying about the grinder and screens makes sense, especially in a smaller area. Everything I found and was told by those in the field was that screens are always the first thing in place, and that before any pumping station there will be secondaries as well.

It is ridiculous how much crap people will flush though, and (semi-related) what else they will put in catch basins (which is why those exist..).

So back to what I was saying; aside from a blockage occurring and damaging the customer's end (for which the municipality is not free of responsibility - so cost exists there, both in employee time and in corrective expenses), the other scenarios are a blockage in the grinder or in/at the pump which will cause damage to both of those. The last two scenarios are what I was getting at, because those can be prevented somewhat (although at the cost of service and backup risk). That's why I said it wouldn't fuck terribly with the system, because if there are proper preventive measures in place then it won't be necessary to replace the pump/grinder.

And again, obviously solids block pipes and that alone is enough reason to just not flush them. But it would have to be a lot of solids to cause a blockage at any regular point in the system rather than at a pump/grinder/lift/whatever as that should be accounted for in the design, except for very old parts of systems (which I do realize exist)

My comment make more sense now? I wasn't saying that it wouldn't damage the municipal side, only that it should be accounted for. And even at that, it shouldn't really have to be accounted for to that extent - people should just not be idiots. It's almost laughable that these are the people who complain at taxes and yet continue to be the source for extra federal/provincial funding. Don't get me started on what people expect out of your local Public Works department, because they think you're all a bunch of fucking miracle workers who shit hundreds and can piss out labour.

Thanks for explaining what a smaller system is like, and what's involved. I'm happy to get the info from someone who knows.

[–]Kaelteth 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

S'all good :)

I do understand and see your point as well - and I do admit, the odds of a single condom taking out a lift is effectively zero.

But I also just did a new lift station, and within 2 weeks we had to pull a pump and unjam the fucker because of a mass of fucking tampons. Thankfully, no equipment wrecked, just a couple hours of my PW guys' time.

I've just become exceptionally protective of municipal sewer systems as a result of my knowledge, and as such whenever I see advice to flush things that aren't piss, shit & tp, I make sure to put in my 2 cents to hopefully help my fellow municipalities out :)

If you have any other questions on our system, feel free to PM me anytime.

Later

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's exactly what I was getting at right here:

But I also just did a new lift station, and within 2 weeks we had to pull a pump and unjam the fucker because of a mass of fucking tampons. Thankfully, no equipment wrecked, just a couple hours of my PW guys' time.

This should be what happens. Major inconvenience, shouldn't need to happen, but does. If the system is working properly, unless some disaster occurs, this is the worst that should happen.

And absolutely continue sharing it. The more people know, the better - whether they like it or not.

Thanks again

It's better if you name your condoms.

Yeah, I love that whole "you don't trust me" thing.

When you counter that statement with saying that "you are simply taking control of your own bodily fluids and being responsible," you see so many women just ignore that whole idea. There was a post a few months back where a guy wrote that his GF was giving him shit because she saw him rinsing out his condoms after sex and then taking them away with him if he had sex at her place. Nearly all of the women who were posting on that thread were calling the guy "irrational" and "horrible" for "not trusting his GF" about the condoms.

Edit; I just found the thread here: http://www.reddit.com/r/AskMen/comments/1rz5nc/girlfriend_is_mad_that_i_am_protective_of_condoms/
