Reddits karma system incentivizes users to post things that'll be well recieved by expected viewers. As such any lines that are simple and polite are more likley to get posted and rise to the front of any post as a reply. Wether they reflect the reader or users reality are a seperate issue entirely. Hence why "Trump will be impeached any day now" gets to the front page with universal agreement thrice daily for the last three years but he's clearly still in office.

Women and men are thus both incentivised to double down on polite lies to be accepted. Men will say something about women being universally beautiful and women something equivalent. But you don't see the body positivity movement doing super well on /r/pics or any other subreddit where upvotes that can't be traced matter more than virtue signals for orange arrows.

These phenomena are not mutually exclusive. I believe both of the below points to be true:

Most women, given the choice, would choose a mate that is taller than themselves. Short guys will have to overcome this somehow if they want to compete with taller guys out in the SMP.
Guys who complain about their height to total strangers online are self-defeating and unattractive. Wasting time and energy complaining about something that can't be changed while projecting insecurity and feelings of inadequacy out into the universe is repulsive to women. The attitude and personality of such men holds them back.

The twitter girl you linked is obviously talking about a specific and personal situation. It sounds like she was into a "short" guy who dicked her over and now she is bitter. Really, her post points toward a man's height not mattering so much if you read between the lines.

It's called virtue signaling, most women care about height but since women don't wanna admit it(because it's shallow and they don't wanna come off as shallow) they decide to victimize themselves by blaming the guy himself(and not his height) for why women don't find him attractive ("It's because of your personality, attitude, etc"). Some short guys have chip on their shoulder or have terrible personality, some just overestimate their smv.

Does height affect men’s smv? Yes. Does having a shitty personality affect your ability to find a relationship. Yes. Does having standards that are too high affect your ability to find a relationship? Yes.

Does being short mean that a sweet, funny guy will never be able to find a happy relationship? Not if he is interested in a woman with a similar smv to his own.
