There's a movie out called Whiplash. I rarely go to the cinema due in large part to mass media's continued brainwashing of young American men, but when I do, it's for movies like this.

Long story short it's about a master and his pupil and the drive it takes to be great, the sheer ruthless pragmatism, the endless suffering and failure. In its the master gives a very important lesson

You're doing fine is the most harmful 3 words in the English language. I'm phrasing here but you get the gist.

I have been rejected by women 335 times in my life and I have no clue how many times I've succeeded. I know it's not 335, I know it's not even close. I started keeping track at 16 And i haven't looked back since. I don't know why I started doing this, perhaps it's because my father was one of those relentless drill Sargeant types living vicariously through me So I never learned how to take compliments, maybe I've always just been a self loathing kinda guy.

For whatever reason, while my friends kept notches of success, I kept scars of failure. Now early on, due to what I now see as elevated status and value thanks to various factors in my physique, race, and social circle, early on my rejections were few and far between. Each rejection was a fresh wound, each rejection bled anew. But something else happened along the way, each no cut a little less deep. Each one hurt a little less until eventually, somewhere around 22, they stopped meaning anything.

I became immune to rejection and unafraid of failure. Beauty no longer had an effect, my boss no longer intimidated me. I realized the truth, that there was no such thing as failure as long as I never became sated. I never was doing fine. Good was not a part of my vocabulary.

I began taking rap seriously and i hate every song I make no matter what people say. I redo everything ten times until I hate it less. It makes me love it. It makes me want to do better each time out.

I began working out again and it's embarrassing at how weak I am compared to my size and how quickly I get tired and I fucking love it. I'm a fucking joke. I have so much room for improvement.

When I pick up a 7, I only think about the 8 I missed. I think where did I go wrong. I think where could I make improvements.

It's a harsh, stressful, tenuous way to live. I fight off depression every day of my life. Happiness is just a fleeting moment before I need more happiness. I find flaws in every woman I fuck because there has to be something wrong with them so I can force myself to try harder.

I lose constantly, but the one thing that keeps me afloat is that I remember that the only difference between a winner and a loser is that a winner loses until he wins.

I'm going to be rejected 350 times before years end. It's my mission. And when I do I'll be back here sharing all my failures.
